A combination of rich colours and aspirational copy helped underline Ironworks Yard’s one-of-a-kind approach to design and architecture. The brand identity for this development helped cement its status as a rare opportunity to buy something very different in the heart of Inner North London.

Our photoshoot of the Ironworks Yard showroom saw us produce a warm final edit, pulling out the rich tones of the interiors. The objective was to lend the imagery a sense of warmth, to create the feeling of Ironworks Yard being a homely respite from the British winter.

Carefully considered visual touches such as the strategy for the photographic imagery for this project all contribute to the success of a brand or venture. In this case our Client saw an 83% uplift in the number of viewings of the development.

This brochure design abstains from a cookie cutter approach to site brochure creation through a creative magazine aesthetic with a focus on colour, space and form.

As the development was being marketed across winter we knew that adding warm tones would evoke a homely feeling to the marketing materials we created.

The overall effect was that of inviting potential buyers in with the promise of a cosy new home away from the cold harsh winter. In the immortal words of Maria Carey; “all I want for Christmas is an apartment in Ironworks Yard”.

Our photoshoot of the showroom saw us produce a warm final edit. We purposefully pulled out the rich tones of the interiors to help lend itself to the vision of a wintry respite.

Each one of the businesses below do brilliant work that inspires, supports and ultimately changes the lives of underrepresented young adults for the better.

- an organisation focused on developing emerging artists and young creatives across music, literature and the arts. SGS also run an innovative incubator scheme called the Young Shoots programme. They provide direct, comprehensive training for young adults to get them work-place and career ready, before securing them paid placements at leading companies.

- a network of established women in the music and creative industries offering voluntary consultancy for young aspiring creative women aged 18-25.

- The Young Guns Network is a professional network produced by and for young adults in the music industry. Their events give young professionals an opportunity to see behind the scenes at leading companies, network with their peers and step into the spotlight as event producers and guest speakers.

- give underrepresented technologists a voice. They do more than just upskill individuals and help them acquire jobs with their partners, they also instil an entrepreneurial spirit and provide them with startup spin out opportunities.

- is a career progression initiative aimed at increasing opportunities for a ethnic diverse creative talent through visibility, events and education. They offer both mentoring schemes and a recruitment service for young adults, as well as those in their mid-career.

We wanted to share some organisations that are creating change and helping to amplify black voices within the design sector.

The UK design industry does not represent the society it serves and across the sector only 13% of employees are people of colour. In architecture it gets even more grim, with 93.7% of employees identifying as white. A report from Bloom UK and media agency UM found that 59% of 300 creatives surveyed do not feel the creative industry is "progressive at all".

Below are a selection of organisations working to diversify the design industry and amplify unheard voices. We implore you to check them out, share their content, follow them and work with them wherever possible:

- Built by Us, led by Danna Walker, is an award-winning innovative social enterprise which exists to actively champion greater diversity and inclusion in the construction sector.

- People of Craft is a growing showcase of creatives of colour and their craft in design, art, and more.

- POCC aims to positively change the experiences of people of colour/culture in advertising and the creative industries and beyond.

- The Other Box is an award-winning diversity and inclusion company, founded by creatives Leyya and Roshni, educating people on bias. The Other Box celebrates people of colour, and people from other underrepresented and marginalised backgrounds.

- Design Can has been set up by a group of industry leaders and activists including Icon magazine editor Priya Khanchandani and designer Yinka Ilori. Its founders aim to push the industry to better represents women, people from BAME backgrounds and people with disabilities.
