"Scan me" - to add Joel / PumpkinPie to your contacts.

Did you know most phones have QR code readers integrated, just open your camera and point it at it (if it doesn't give you the option to add me to your contacts you will have to download a 3rd party QR code reader).

It is worth having, because they are a useful and user friendly way to do countless things;
Direct users to specific web pages (useful, for exhibitions, galleries, museums)
Adverts - can direct users to an exclusive offers.
Add contacts (great for networking meetings etc)

I was asked the other day what are the 3 most impotant things for an effective website?

I instantly said:

1) Purpose
2) Call to Action
3) Information

But then even with those three things you can still miss the target. A site is worth nothing if it isn't;

1) Responsive.
2) Easy to navigate.
3) Grammatically correct and free of spelling mistakes.

After saying that, the content is king. It has to be:

1) Well indexed and easy to find.
2) Well crafted headlines that grabs the users interest, and to point, on the message.
3) Photos and illustrations supporting the content.

And even if you have all of that, the site still has to be found by the search engines and the users;

1) Search Engine Friendly.
2) A good domain name.
3) Mobile freindly.

Thinking about it, it is easier to say what are the 3 mistakes you should avoid.

1) Over complicated design & navigation.
2) A confused message - words for the sake of words!
3) A non cross-platformed site (one that can't be viewed by any device or browser).
..again I could go on, but I won't.
