The bee has been part of the print collection for over forty years.

Printed from a hand-engraved die, it has appeared on our notecards, place cards and gift cards since the beginning. The die is laid out and measured on the bed of the press, met with metallic gold ink, and stamped by hand onto a woven stock.

Some marks come and go. Others are passed down from printer to printer’s apprentice as they learn their craft.

Thread, glue, pressure, patience.
The spine of a hand-bound book, consolidated one section at a time. Sewn by hand, held in the press, glue worked into the folds with a paste brush. It’s the part of a book nobody sees, and the part that decides whether it still opens flat in fifty years.
The binding is the quiet half of the craft.

The piece explores what it takes to keep a print business in rude health four decades in. Craft, curiosity, and a willingness to bring the specialist processes most printers outsource under our own roof. Envelope-making, letterpress, foiling, die-stamping, engraving. All of it done here, so we can start from inspiration and let the imagination follow.

A closer look at how the Nature Collection came together, printed with Foilco foils to catch the shine that only nature does properly.
Each ladybird is built up in layers. A black foil base first, laying down the shell and the shape. A white foil pass to bring the pattern forward. Then the final layer, red or yellow, hot-pressed on top to finish the piece. Three passes through the press for each card, each one registered by hand.
Iridescence on paper is a slow ask. You get close by choosing the right foil, laying it in the right order, and trusting the eye at every stage.

Created for LLC Global, this brand book was designed to serve as the definitive introduction to the group's private aviation, motoring and lifestyle offering.
Taking cues from luxury monograph publishing and the quiet confidence of the brand itself, the piece pairs a deep matte black cover with a sculptural blind embossed emblem and crisp white foil wordmark, opening onto uncoated interior pages of considered typography, editorial imagery and product detail. A brand book made to be handled, kept and returned to.
