Created for the launch of Anūt Cairo, this invitation was designed to celebrate a cosmic evening previewing a new venture bringing the sunlight, warmth and magic of Egypt to London.
Taking cues from ancient Egyptian iconography and the goddess Nūt herself, the piece combines a sculptural pop-up pyramid, gold foil detailing and hand-illustrated motifs with letterpress printing, riso-printed inserts and a playful sticker sheet of cosmic symbols. A theatrical invitation designed to unfold, rise and reveal — from envelope to evening.

Cloth-bound in deep forest green, gold-foiled, and finished with a gilt edge. The “Ninety” lettering is foil-blocked into the linen — small, precise, catching the light against the matte weave — while the page edges are gilded by hand so the closed block reads as a single band of gold. Hand-painted illustration meets engraved gold. The watercolour trellises and curtains are printed digitally — every painterly wash and trailing vine — then the script is engraved over the top, pressed into the paper so it catches the light. The art is in holding the two in perfect register: digital can shift, and gold leaves no room for error, so each sheet is checked by eye before it joins the stack.
