Everything looks lovely. Nothing sounds human. And nobody can tell the difference between: a marketing agency, a life coach, or somewhere that sells £74 hand soap.

Beautiful is fine.

But beautiful that says nothing is just the internet wearing a very expensive hat.

Every website now looks like it moisturises.

Soft beige. Muted pink. A woman drinking coffee while staring thoughtfully out of a window in a linen co-ord.
And somewhere underneath it all:
"Helping visionary brands unlock aligned transformation."

Read it again. It still means nothing. It meant nothing the second time too.

Meanwhile the actual customer is sat there going: "Right, but… what IS it?"
This is why so many businesses feel weirdly forgettable online now.

👋 Your foolproof guide to getting zero web conversions this week.

1️⃣ - Open with a H1 that says absolutely nothing.

"Welcome to our website." "Solutions for your business." "Premium bags for you."

What bags? Tesco bags? Nappy bags? Dog poo bags?
For who exactly? Kids? Dentists? Golden retrievers?

Make sure Google, and every human who lands on your page, has absolutely no idea what you do or why they should care. Vital.

2️⃣ - Use AI generated imagery and stock photos.

Nothing says "trust me with your money" like a face that doesn't exist pointing at a graph that means nothing.

3️⃣ - Ignore your meta descriptions.
Leave them blank or let your website builder auto-generate something that reads like it was written by someone who has never met you, your business or the English language. Google loves that. Readers love that.

4️⃣ - Keep the broken links.
404 pages are character building. For you and for Google. Customers actively love having to search HARDER & absolutely will not leave your site for the nearest competitor.
Every dead link is a quiet signal to search engines that you stopped caring about your website sometime around 2019. Lean into it.

5️⃣ - Have a logo that could belong to anyone.
Make sure it's practically unreadable.
A font. Maybe a swoosh. Possibly a leaf or a globe if you're into 'sustainability'

Make absolutely sure it communicates nothing specific about who you are, what you stand for or why you exist. Interchangeable is the goal.

6️⃣ - No call to action.
They found you. They read you. They liked you. Now make them work out what to do next entirely on their own. If they're serious they'll figure it out.
(They won't. They'll leave.)

Or.
Find your true story. Build everything else on top of it. Watch your website stop being a digital business card that can't even do that one job right and start being the thing that actually brings clients to your door.

That's what I do in 90 minutes.
The True Story. £197. 5 spots.

Bought this yesterday because:

it was new

it was £1

“Café Latte Porridge” is exactly the sort of phrase that sounds incredible in a meeting and mildly unhinged in real life.

It tasted like someone dissolved a hotel room Nescafé sachet into wallpaper paste and then asked everybody to “be open minded”.

Not disgusting.
Just incredibly difficult to classify.

Every spoonful raised fresh questions.

Breakfast?
Beverage?
Administrative error?

Anyway. This is currently how I feel reading half the internet.

“Empowering transformative growth for modern brands.”

Fine.
But are we selling software, therapy, oat milk or a hostage negotiation service?

Nobody knows.

“We empower visionary founders through transformative innovation.”

Okay.

But what do you actually DO?

Your customer should not need Benoit Blanc to understand your business.

Most businesses aren’t struggling because they’re bad.

They’re struggling because nobody can understand them quickly enough.

Clarity converts - and if you don't know who Benoit Blanc is? Go have a Google - I suspect you'll find out top of fold.

You've been sold a button.

A system. A 'hack'. A template.
A 'less than a dollar a day' promise that sounds like SEO but delivers nothing but noise.

Nobody's found your story.

Without it — page 1 doesn't exist for you.
Neither does the AI citation.
Neither does the journalist's call.

I've spent 25 years finding the stories that make all of that possible.
In search, in press, in the rooms that matter.

This was taken in Santa Monica. Knee deep in the Pacific thinking about why brilliant businesses are invisible online.

The answer is always the same.
My Brain. Not a Button.

In 2026, average content is free.

AI can write your bio, your posts, your website, your pitch. In seconds. For everyone.

Talk about left on read/unread (because *who even* ?)

When everyone sounds *uggghhhh*, nobody sounds real.

When everyone has a 'content strategy', nobody has a story.

Categorically - he ones who actually get read/seen/searched are the ones who are irreducibly, specifically, uncomplicatedly themselves.

I’ve spent 25 years in journalism, PR and SEO.

I’ve written headlines, pitches and 10 second radio ads. Placed stories in outlets on every continent.
Built search strategies that put brilliant people in front of the right audiences.

And the thing I see most often in founders and experts?

They’ve lost the thread of their own story.

Not because they’re not good enough.

Because nobody has ever sat with them, asked the right questions, and told them the truth about what makes them unmissable.

So I built something for that.

Your third bio rewrite. Your fourteenth 'authentic' LinkedIn post.

Somewhere in there, you lost the plot.
Not the work. The work is good. You know the work is good.

But ask you what you do at a networking event and watch yourself turn into a human Wikipedia page nobody asked for.

This is The True Story.
90 minutes. One to one. We find the line that makes people lean in instead of glaze over.

£197 for the first five. Then £297.

Google can’t read a dead URL.
Neither can AI.

Earned coverage doesn’t just impress people.
It feeds the machines deciding credibility.
Broken link = broken trust signal.

That’s what I fix.

You’re being seen.
You’ve got a website.
You’re across some socials, maybe all.
You’re posting.

So why isn’t it translating?

Because people don’t evaluate you in one place.

They piece you together.
What’s written.
Where it appears.
What shows up when they search you.
You've got less than 10 seconds via Google by the way..
And if that picture doesn’t make sense quickly?
They hesitate.
Then they move on.

PR gets you seen.
SEO gets you found.

But if it doesn’t connect?
It doesn’t convert.
That’s the gap I fix.

I’m opening a few audit sessions for May.

Grant Mitchell is back on Albert Square and Phil is BIG MAD.

I have a new stripy chair.

I have built a new website, set up up an event, designed two new trainings , and sorted my own SEO this weekend.

Turns out when you sort your foundations everything else just... works.

Even Mondays.
