SMM manager functions
The competence of the SMM manager includes two areas of work. The first is associated with management functionality, and the second - with the implementation of plans and the achievement of goals. Let's consider both directions in more detail.
1. Management or managerial functions:
• Strategy formation. The SMM manager is the main expert in the company on such an important media channel today as social networks, so he is responsible for determining the presence of the brand in them.
• Coordination of activity. Working with social networks should fit into the overall communication concept of the company, therefore, when conducting wide advertising campaigns, this should be reflected in the content. The task of the SMM manager is to coordinate this activity with colleagues within the company in order to act as a united front.
• Content planning. Drawing up a content plan for each account used in accordance with the characteristics of social networks - the SMM manager must do this work regularly, making adjustments, as well as updates for the following time periods.
• Team and contractor management. If the SMM manager does not work alone and the organizational structure of this function in the company assumes the presence of subordinates such as: a copywriter, bill editor or designer, or he uses a specialized agency for supporting functions, then he needs to interact with them so that the work goes in accordance with the planned plan.
