Each year, the Victims' Commissioner for England and Wales, Baroness Newlove, carries out an annual Victim Survey - a unique opportunity for victims of crime to share their experiences and perceptions of the criminal justice system. Covering all crime types and all stages of the criminal justice system, this survey is the only one of its kind, ensuring that victims' voices are heard and play a pivotal role in driving meaningful change. This year TONIC, a social research organisation specialising in criminal justice research, has been contracted by the Victims' Commissioner to carry out the survey.
It takes around 15 minutes to complete, the survey is anonymous and open to all victims over the age of 16 across England and Wales who have experienced a crime in the past three years - regardless of whether it was reported to the police. Responses will be analysed and published in an upcoming report by the Victims' Commissioner, helping to inform her work in improving the victim experience and drive better justice outcomes for all victims across England and Wales.
