At professor Web i'd say 20% of our time is spent building websites

The other 80% is actually making those websites visible when people search for them.

So if your website, is basically a digital business card - read this post very carefully and then get in touch if any of it resonates with you:

In this example we'll use Plumbers - just for the sake of context and example.

Let’s be honest about it.

If you want to rank your plumbing services page on Google and in AI search, you’ve got to get the basics right. Same goes for every other service you offer.

Here’s what I’d look at first – and no, it’s not some bloated checklist.

1. UI and UX – If your website looks dated or takes ages to load, people are gone before they even read the first line. Get it fixed or rebuild it properly.

2. Content – The layout matters. Headings, paragraphs, photos, and how it all explains what you actually do. Google reads structure as much as words.

3. Site structure – Your navigation, internal links, and supporting pages all need to make sense. Everything should flow naturally back to your main plumbing page.

4. Off-page content – Where else does your name show up? Social posts, guest articles, backlinks, local directories – it all adds to your authority.

5. Keywords and topics – Know what people are actually searching for and write pages that answer those searches clearly.

Once you’ve covered those five, you’ll know exactly what’s missing and where to focus next.

Don’t copy and paste the same topic across multiple pages. You’ll end up competing with yourself.

Do a bit of digging.

Look at Reddit threads, local Facebook groups, and what real people are asking about plumbing in your area.

Write content that actually answers them.

Do that consistently and you’ll start seeing your pages climb month after month.

7️⃣ Off-Page Distribution

All of this should link back to your main plumbing page and your Google Business Profile.

Answer questions on Reddit and Quora

Write short advice posts on LinkedIn

Guest articles on local news or trade sites

Join local Facebook community pages

Press releases – “XYZ Plumbing expands 24-hour callout across the North West”

— A fully optimised e-commerce platform where collectors, investors, and artisans can buy their stunning hand made copper products, art bars, and sculptures. From The Precious to The Behemoth, every product page is built to showcase craftsmanship and integrity not gimmicks. We also took the history and heritage very seriously indeed - as their HQ is in the historic copper mining port of Amlwch - Wales.

We didn’t stop at the visuals. Every image, every line of copy, every technical element was built from the ground up for speed, usability, and SEO performance.

But here’s the part that actually made Mandy smile and stop worrying about her previous wasted budgets. One of their original production touches is an old school bar stamp. The physical mark stamped into every piece. The literal signature of authenticity.

We took that stamp. We digitised it. We cleaned it, vectorised it and rebuilt it with a little bit of graphic design wizardry so it worked perfectly across every touchpoint. We’ve just finished the new website for Synergy Growth Solutions, and this one’s a proper example of how a clear brief and good collaboration make everything easier.

Andy and the team wanted something that cut through the noise — clean, credible, and focused on what they actually do: helping sales-led SMEs grow through structured frameworks like GAAP, Pareto Focus and Erosion Shield.

We kept it simple:

Build something fast, clear and easy to navigate.

We had a few server challenges to navigate but managed to pull it all together in the end.
