I’ve come across at least three clients in the last 6 months who were advised a year or two ago to move their WordPress site over to the web designers own platform and the end result (by the time we get our hands on the site) is some weird looking CMS that only the developer has full access to and you are completely tied into them. Then as these clients did, you then have to pay somebody to rebuild a site all over again in WordPress and watch it shoot back up the rankings. Keep control of your site ! Your business website belongs to you, not some digital marketing agency trying to look for extra work !

Client ends up paying twice for a website and starting their SEO almost from scratch. Some businesses have been set back a year or more, or stay with their previous agency for longer than they wanted to, purely because the cost and disruption of leaving felt too high.

If you needed proof that the search wars are heating up, here it is. On 6th June 2026, during the French Open final weekend, we spotted ChatGPT running a paid Google Ad for the search term “watch french open.”

That’s right. OpenAI is now paying Google for clicks. The very platform it’s trying to replace.

The ad appeared at the top of the sponsored results under the ChatGPT brand, with the headline “Plan a Tennis Watch Party” and a description pushing ChatGPT as a tennis coach. Sitelinks promoted voice mode and the desktop app. It sat right above a P&O Ferries ad for travel to Roland Garros.
It’s a significant moment.

OpenAI is now running paid Google Ads to pull searchers away from Google and into ChatGPT. We spotted them bidding on "watch french open" during the 2026 Roland Garros tournament.
