Today, we talk Accessible Authentication!

It’s great for us who always forget our passwords but it also improves accessibility.

To meet the (AA) requirements, another authentication method that does not rely on remembering a password or username must be provided. This includes third-party password managers that can automatically fill out login details.

Today, we tackle Target Size!

The WCAG 2.2 standards for target size supports users with hand tremors or difficulties with motor movements.

The new (AA) success criteria is to ensure target size for clickable elements are at least 24px by 24px (though this doesn’t apply to clickable links within a sentence).

It’s official, WCAG 2.2 has been published.

The additional requirements help make the web more accessible and will become the standard expected for public sector websites.

The UK government has stated, ‘to meet government accessibility requirements, digital services must meet level AA of the WCAG 2.2 as a minimum.’

What does this mean for you?

🔍 Monitoring of new criteria will begin in 2024, so there is still time to assess your digital platforms and implement improvements.
🙋‍♀️ In the UK, 1 in 5 people have a disability. Every organisation should consider the benefits of designing for accessibility.

🌎 Today is World Mental Health Day

The theme this year is, ‘Mental health is a universal human right’. We stand by this wholeheartedly.

But the reality is, mental health can be scary to talk about - especially in the workplace. So, it’s important to let your team know that their mental health is protected 🧠

Our team get 3 mental health days every year, without question. Those who took a mental health day this year spent their day:

🐶 Playing fetch in the park with their dog
🧘‍♀️ Trying a new activity (yoga!)
📵 Truly switched off and disconnected from screens
