Still thinking about Lucy Raven’s Murderers Bar at the Barbican. The curved screen pulls you into the air—half helicopter, half dream—and suddenly you’re gliding over a river finally freed from a century-old dam. There’s something deeply satisfying about watching a landscape breathe again, knowing that real people fought for that restoration.

It’s part film, part visceral reminder that the land remembers—and that we can actually undo the damage we’ve done. If you need something stirring, unusual, and beautifully shot, go see Rounds. It’s there ’til 4 Jan, and it’s absolutely worth stepping into.

Type design isn’t just about shaping letters — it’s about shaping meaning. My work often sits where identity, memory, and place blur into each other, and two of my typefaces capture that intersection in very different ways.

Romford Stencil (2016) was born out of the Brexit years: fractured, modular, and deliberately uneasy. Its split forms echo a union pulling apart, while its contrasting upper- and lowercase styles hint at coexistence without blending into sameness. And yes — despite its sharp edges — it reads beautifully in text and sings at display sizes.

Suburban Collier (2020) arrived in the quiet of the pandemic. A humanist demi-serif with soft curves, subtle ligatures, and an alternate a, it draws from the suburban calm of Collier Row. It’s warm, multilingual, and designed to bring personality to both body copy and expressive headline work.

Together, they turn place and cultural memory into tools for visual storytelling — typefaces that don’t just set text, but set a mood.

Accessibility isn’t a vibe—it’s a baseline.
The new Sign Design Guide (2024) just dropped, and honestly, if your wayfinding system can’t pass it… pack it up.

Swipe for some of my own recent work 👀 (yes, even the fancy architecture companies need reminding that signs are for everyone, not just the people who already know where they’re going).

Design that discriminates = design that fails.
Design that includes = design that actually works.

✨ Go read the guide, and then go fix your signs. ✨

Say hello to Suburban Collier — Romford Stencil’s cooler, dreamier sister who left the drama behind and came back serving soft power. Born during lockdown (because of course she was), she’s basically suburban chic bottled into a font: approachable, reflective, but still ready to steal the spotlight.

She’s not just a pretty face either — she’s got subtle ligatures, an alt ‘a’ with attitude, and she speaks more languages than your ex who “studied abroad.” Headlines? She owns them. Body copy? Effortless. Branding? She eats.

Modern, timeless, inclusive, stylish — Suburban Collier is the typeface equivalent of “effortlessly hot.” Use her once and watch everything else look basic.

The Persephone Artist Collective asked for a logo that wasn’t just “pretty branding”—it had to hold myth, politics, and body all at once.

Instead of going literal (no pomegranate clipart, sorry), I built an identity system that nods to Persephone’s story: rebirth, dual worlds, voice reclaimed. Clean, adaptable, but still carrying weight.

Collaboration wasn’t just a box-tick—it was baked in. The founders shaped the visual language with me, making sure the outcome wasn’t surface-level feminism, but something that could actually carry them into exhibitions, print, and digital without watering down.

The result? A mark that isn’t trying to scream for attention, but still holds power. Strong, minimal, contemporary—built to last, not just trend.

If you want no-BS branding for your collective—my DMs are open!

The Persephone Artist Collective, a group of female artists exploring identity, the body, and cultural narratives, needed a logo that could unify their vision while expressing their core values of transformation, voice, and inclusivity. Drawing from the myth of Persephone and the symbolism of the pomegranate, the visual identity aimed to balance strength with femininity.

I led the design process with a focus on symbolic abstraction and modern minimalism. I developed a logo that subtly referenced themes of rebirth and the female form, while remaining clean and adaptable across platforms. Collaboration with the collective’s founders and members ensured the result aligned with their aesthetic and mission.

The final logo is a versatile, contemporary mark that elevated the collective’s brand presence. It has been successfully applied across exhibitions, digital platforms, and printed materials—enhancing visibility and resonating with curators, collaborators, and the broader creative community.

Your imagination isn’t fluff. It’s strategy.
When your job, industry, or timeline fails you—speculative design steps in like: “let’s remix this mess.”

I’ve used it to rewire my entire career (and mental state).
Not to impress the system—but to outgrow it.

✨ For the full tea, listen to the latest episode of No Sketchy Business—where we get into why speculative design is for real ones who are done playing nice.

— Not your typical artist collective.
This identity system was built for makers who move with intention — collaborative, critical, and culture-shifting.
No trend-chasing. Just visual strategy that holds space for complexity.

Swipe for a visual language rooted in shared authorship.

Branding doesn’t just represent — it reframes.
And this one? Built to grow, adapt, and challenge the expected.

– job titles

– being 3 mins early to a meeting

It’s also:
– setting boundaries
– flopping, unflopping, evolving
– making things that feel like you

If your creative path makes no sense on paper but feels real in your gut—congrats. You’re doing it right.
