As August begins to wind down, Greece is entering what might just be its best chapter 🇬🇷

We’re delighted to see four Dovetail clients named as finalists in the Family Traveller Awards 2026, following review by the publication’s panel of family travel journalists.

Bürgenstock Resort , The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort , Porto Zante Villas & Spa and Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve are all through to the public vote, recognised across categories spanning kids’ clubs, early-years travel, accessibility and sustainability.

Is the coffee-table book becoming a rite of passage for luxury hotels? 📙

From art collections and architecture to the characters and histories behind the doors, hotels are increasingly taking their stories beyond the stay and onto the bookshelf.

Palazzo Ripetta | Relais & Châteaux is the latest to join the library, with a new book published by Rizzolilibri and photographed by Aurelio Amendola, tracing the remarkable evolution of its Roman home from a 17th-century conservatory to the hotel it is today.

For us, it points to something bigger: as hotels become cultural brands in their own right, the coffee-table book is becoming another way to build a world that lasts well beyond check-out.

Things we learnt this month in travel: your golf ball can travel further in the Swiss Alps.

At higher altitude, the air is thinner, creating less drag and allowing shots to carry further than they would at sea level.

After five years of planning, rehabilitation and conservation, Sandringham Private Game Reserve is now open in the Greater Kruger.
