An open apology to Kieran 😂

Yesterday I posted on LinkedIn about trying to navigate the corporate world and Kieran left a comment.

And I went in a bit… gung-ho. 😬

Since then, multiple people have said, “Zoe, I really don’t think that’s what he meant.”

And do you know what? They’re right.

I think I was so ready for the corporate LinkedIn reaction that I’d already decided what his comment meant before I’d actually considered what he was saying.

Which is quite funny, considering I spend half my life banging on about being yourself, not worrying what people think and not making assumptions.

So, Kieran, I owe you an apology. I didn’t practise what I preach.

But actually, there’s probably a lesson in that too.

We ALL slip into it. We get defensive. We assume. We read things through whatever mood or expectation we’ve already got in our head.

So I’m taking my own advice today.

Be yourself. Be comfortable with yourself. Stop trying to second-guess everyone else.

Your vibe will attract your tribe.

And occasionally your vibe will make you look a bit of a dick on LinkedIn.

We met at a craft fair in Brighton back in 2016. It was boiling hot, we got absolutely sunburnt, and I’m pretty sure neither of us sold anything on that first day 😅

But we kept going.

Over the years we both took completely different paths. Tried things. Changed direction. Figured stuff out the hard way. But we never lost touch.

And now, somehow, all of that has led us here. Building something that actually means something. Something that helps people properly.

1. One clear purpose
Decide what the main job of your link is right now.
