The last 48 hours / 2 weeks have been incredible. I’ve had the pleasure of MCing on day two of for thenetworkone and delivering my talk on ‘embracing awkwardness’ and ‘creating impact with positivity’, which had plenty of chuckles and requotes later, and the most awkward bit thankfully went down a storm.
The last two days were packed with amazing opportunities to learn ahead of the curve on topics such as what AI can (and can’t do) in creativity and for business, How to win a Nobel Prize, How to better motivate your teams for success, growth with purpose, new markets in the Middle East and entrepreneurship for peace.
Thank you so much to Julian Boulding from thenetworkone for giving me this opportunity. Preparations involved speaking to some of the most incredible intellects, creatives and world-class speakers. I absolutely loved it and I truly smashed my limits and can’t wait for the next challenge.
I’d especially like to mention the other speakers, who gave up a generous amount of their time to meet beforehand and share their incredible stories and insights.
My top take aways:
“It is both useful and healthy to have disrespect for other people’s ideas to shift things forward” + “Creativity comes from combining” - Tobias Degsell - How to Win a Nobel Prize.
“Behave famously; think and act big” + “follow your envy” and then learn how to better it - Heather Kernahan - Hotwire, Unstuck.
“You should be more expensive than anyone else if you want to do great work.” - Craig Rodney
“AI can do just about anything. But it doesn’t know what’s good, that’s where Creatives are needed.” + massive props for the AI Rock song created in a few minutes about The Indie Summit Morad - Bright Mind Agency
Also some absolute gems from , and on the panel, none of which I could take down as I was too busy asking all the questions!
But what stayed with me was “Moving at the speed of culture” from Josh, Founder & CEO of Day One Agency, that Serviceplan Group’s Houses of Communication are possibly the happiest workplaces in Europe from Marcus, their COO Intl. and some really great points on the need to come together and work under the same roof for the sake of creative cohesion and development of young talent from Hutchison CSO at VCCP.
Thank you also to Josh for bringing a Predictionary to me all the way from NY!
To all those I couldn’t quote directly, I’ll save for another day. But just to say you were all INCREDIBLE. Look forward to meeting again.
All the best,
Katie Killip
