You can wear colour in many different ways, and depending on how you put shades together, it will have an effect on how you look. Some combinations will look amazing on you, others not so much. But do you know your best combination?

I’ve taken Pantone's Cerulean Blue, a shade that we will be seeing a lot of this year, and put it with two other shades. Which is your best look?

Clear & Bright
Soft & Tonal

Some of you may think that Cerulean Blue is too light or maybe too cool to wear. I won’t pigeonhole you into a colour palette. Instead I can show you how to wear colour so that you look and feel amazing.

I asked you earlier which colour would look 'wow' on this beautiful woman and which wouldn't look so good.

Of course the answer is hot pink, which will look marvellous. It will freshen her skin tone, making her look healthy, vibrant and even younger. Conversely, the light khaki will cast sallow shadows across her face making her look less vibrant and unwell.

Remember these are images and we are not seeing what the colours do in real life.

The white looks great on her, now imagine adding a hot pink scarf or jacket. That's the 'wow'.

Well done if you got it right!!

Are you shedding the layers yet? A trench coat has got to be the best transitional piece of clothing there is, and it's having a moment right now. Of course these days, you don't have to stick to the traditional shade of stone, but if you have a classic stone trench lurking in the back of the cupboard, here are our suggestions on how to combine it with other colours for maximum impact:

Lights: combine with a delicate tone from your palette such as dusty rose.
Deeps: you need some depth to balance out the lighter tone, burgundy will look wonderful.
Warms: your oranges will look fabulous but try something different such as lime.
Cools: contrast is your best friend and purple looks amazing teamed with stone on you.
Clears: try a bright, vivid shade such as true red, it's a winner on you.
Softs: you always look good in tonal combinations, but try something a little bit different such as sky blue.

I never tell you that you can't wear a colour, but I will show you how to wear it. Come and have your colours analysed. I promise you, it will change the way you dress for ever.

Five ways to look more 'put together' today:

1. Add elevation, even a small block heel will polish your look and make you walk taller.

2. Throw on some jewellery. A couple of bracelets or a pair of earrings can really smarten up your look.

3. Wear fabrics that don't crease for all-day sharpness.

4. Switch out a cardi or jumper for a killer jacket.

5. Put on your best lipstick - it's game changing.
