No. 6989 ‘Wightwick Hall’ Seen in its Hogwarts express livery on the Epping Ongar Railway

No. 6989 plays the role of the iconic Hogwarts Express in the new Harry Potter television series!

Unfortunately cloud cover Ruined the shot I had planned but still nice to get out and see something different.

This photo taken in October evokes so many emotions...
Location wise there is nothing special about it. When I went out to snap 60007 I could have never imagined it would be the last locomotive me and dad would see together. Very fitting it was an A4 and passed on our local line we even dragged mum out with us 😂
Since its latest excursions on the mainline me and dad have travelled up to Peterborough and chased it through Somerset and Devon, adventures I cherish so dearly.

Monday Blues?

60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' Hauling the return Saphos Trains English Riviera express seen at Starcross Devon.

It would of been rude not to have nipped across to Devon before the long drive home, after a few passing showers thankfully the sun broke through the heavy cloud above powerdam castle as SNG passed by.

'Streaking through Somerset'

LNER A4 Pacific no. 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley approaches whiteball tunnel as it climbs its way through the boarder of Somerset and Devon on a Saphos Trains ENGLISH RIVIERA EXPRESS Charter to Kingswear.

After failing to find public access to the location at the opposite end of the tunnel I was unsure if to even bother taking the shot.
As Sng was approaching the sun disappeared and the heavens opened with Rain the long drive from London soon motivated me to scuttle up to my vantage point.
