Thanks for the tip Marie 😘 The French Workwear Company Jackson's Art Supplies £5.10 for a big pot of the stuff. Mix with water, slap it on et voila!

These big beasties appeared on my birch tree today!
From googling I think it’s a buff-tip moth and they’re happily munching through the leaves. Any gardening experts out there with advice? Quite fascinating to watch but I fear my tree might not be happy. It’s struggling in the heat as it is and I’ve promised it a spot in the ground in October if it will last that long! I should have done it last year really but it’s a big dig!
