A little licensing joy from BLE โ€™25, as we look ahead to BLE 2026.

There is something brilliant about seeing characters step out of the screen and into real life.

For children, that moment is not about brand strategy, consumer products or category growth. It is about recognition, delight and memory. A familiar world suddenly close enough to stand beside.

That is the magic Emerald Create cares about.

As we look ahead to Brand Licensing Europe 2026, and to Emerald Create turning 10 on 18th July 2026, we are feeling especially grateful for the kids and family IP space, and for the story-worlds that continue to shape childhood with colour and care.

Seeing brands explore spaces like Coachella to connect with families feels like part of a much bigger shift.

Storytelling is no longer confined to screen or page. It is becoming something people step into, something they feel, share and carry with them afterwards.

For childrenโ€™s and family IP, that shift matters. The worlds that stay with children are not just recognisable, they are felt. Through atmosphere, music, colour and energy, and through the emotional imprint they leave behind. Even when children are not directly at the centre of a moment like this, families still absorb story through experience.

The world sometimes feels like a store slowly closing down, shedding pieces of itself one by one.

Weโ€™ve all known that our beloved entertainment industry is facing tough times, but with Kidscreen discontinued and redundancies continuing, it feels especially poignant. ๐Š๐ข๐๐ฌ๐œ๐ซ๐ž๐ž๐ง was one of the major gatherings for the kidsโ€™ entertainment community, and its ending marks just how much the landscape has changed.

It brings to mind the stores we once loved that are now gone. ๐–๐จ๐จ๐ฅ๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ก๐ฌ ๐Ÿฌ, with its penny sweets and little treasures. ๐ŸŽฌ ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐œ๐ค๐›๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ, with the ritual of wandering the aisles and debating what to watch.
