We are always thinking about 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙪𝙧 …. it’s a driving force behind so many things we do, and it reflects mood, confidence and self-expression through our visual connection. 💜
When we see 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙪𝙧, it evokes a range of different emotions and feelings, influences perceptions, and even affects physiological reactions. 💜
𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨 can make us feel happy or sad, passionate or passive and can psychologically affect us on multiple levels - everything from human behaviour to mood and performance 💜
Shade, brightness, tint and tone can also affect our emotions - regardless of whether it’s a cool or warm tone!
Warm 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨 such as red, orange and yellow often evoke feelings of happiness, optimism and energy. However, yellow, red and orange can also have an attention-grabbing effect and signal danger or make you take action (think stop signs, hazard warnings, barrier tape, sale signs and fast-food restaurants). Red can also increase a person’s appetite, while too much yellow can cause feelings of anxiety. Orange combines the energy of red with the happiness of yellow and is seen as an invigorating colour that stimulates activity and enthusiasm.
Cool 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨 such as green and blue are calming and soothing. Blue is a popular choice for offices where focus is key. Similarly, green is refreshing and soothing and can improve concentration, making it ideal for workspaces.
Black represents sophistication and elegance and can also evoke feelings of power and authority. It’s a common choice for high-end brands and formal dress
White: Symbolises purity and simplicity and creates a sense of space and openness. It’s frequently used in minimalist designs and modern aesthetics.
𝙋𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙡𝙚 combines the calm stability of blue and the fierce energy of red and is often associated with royalty, nobility, luxury, power and ambition. 𝙋𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙡𝙚 symbolises wisdom, wealth, extravagance, dignity and magic and is often associated with luxury, creativity and spirituality. Purple inspires imaginative thinking and provides a sense of calm.💜
Colours are powerful tools that shape our emotions, behaviours, and decisions. By understanding the psychology behind them, you can create environments that enhance mood, boost productivity and drive business success. Whether you're decorating your home, designing a workspace, or building a brand, thoughtful colour choices can make a world of difference.
I chose 𝙥𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙡𝙚 as my primary branding 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙪𝙧 to reinforce creativity, wisdom, trust and independence. It also ‘Stands Out’ online as a strong 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙪𝙧 that gets noticed. Interestingly as much as I love it online it’s not a 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙪𝙧 I would choose to wear.
What 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨 have you chosen for your business and why did you choose them? I’d love to hear. 💜
