๐๐ฅ USโIran War Nears a Critical Turning Point ๐บ๐ธ๐ค๐ฎ๐ท
The ongoing ceasefire between the United States and Iran is being extended as both nations move rapidly toward a possible historic peace agreement (MoU) ๐๏ธ. As of May 25, 2026, high-level negotiations are progressing intensely with mediation led mainly by Pakistan ๐ต๐ฐ and backed by regional powers including Saudi Arabia ๐ธ๐ฆ, the United Arab Emirates ๐ฆ๐ช, Qatar ๐ถ๐ฆ, Egypt ๐ช๐ฌ, Jordan ๐ฏ๐ด, and Bahrain ๐ง๐ญ.
Former US President Donald Trump stated through Truth Social and several media interviews that most parts of the agreement have already been discussed and nearly finalized ๐. One of the key objectives is the gradual reopening of the Strait of Hormuz ๐ข โ a strategic route responsible for transporting nearly 20% of the worldโs oil supply โฝ.
The roots of this crisis trace back to the massive military operation known as โOperation Epic Furyโ โ๏ธ launched jointly by the United States and Israel ๐ฎ๐ฑ against Iran on February 28, 2026. More than 900 strikes targeted Iranian missile facilities, air defense systems, military infrastructure, and leadership centers ๐ฅ. Reports also claimed that Iranโs Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed during the attacks.
In retaliation, Iran launched drone and missile strikes against Israel, US military bases, and Gulf region targets ๐. The conflict caused devastating destruction across Iran ๐ฎ๐ท, Lebanon ๐ฑ๐ง, and Israel ๐ฎ๐ฑ, leaving thousands dead and millions displaced ๐ข.
Following diplomatic pressure from China ๐จ๐ณ and mediation by Pakistan, a conditional two-week ceasefire was announced on April 7โ8 and later extended while negotiations continued ๐ค.
A major focus of the proposed peace deal is Iranโs nuclear program โข๏ธ. Washington demands that Iran halt high-level uranium enrichment and either destroy or transfer its enriched uranium stockpiles. In return, the US may gradually ease sanctions ๐ต and allow limited oil exports.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio welcomed the progress, while global markets have reacted positively ๐ with oil prices falling and stock markets recovering.
However, Iran insists that no final agreement has been reached yet โ ๏ธ. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu remains highly cautious, fearing Iranโs nuclear capabilities may not be completely dismantled.
๐ The world now watches closely as this fragile peace process could reshape the future of the Middle East forever.
