Know YOUR worth.
It’s something I learned the hard way. When I started out, I charged pennies for my work — and honestly, looking back, the quality matched the price. But over time, we grow. We learn. And our time becomes far more valuable than we often give ourselves credit for.
There’s no perfect template for pricing. Every design, client, deadline, and expectation is different. But taking a moment to figure out how long a project will actually take you is huge. Time isn’t free — and neither is your skill.
Working around the independent wrestling scene, I hear what some designers charge for full campaigns… and it’s wild. I know this industry isn’t rolling in cash, and I’m not talking about gouging anyone. But please, look at your time-to-cost ratio. Don’t undervalue yourself. Don’t burn yourself out. And definitely don’t let your talent go cheap.
I’m not pretending to be an expert. I’m still learning every day. I just care about this community and want to see designers thrive, not struggle. If anyone has more advice or thoughts, throw them in — this is absolutely worth talking about.
Get LOST in your designs.
