I can’t believe I haven’t opened my laptop since November 🤯

Mum life is as jam-packed as everyone said it would be (nothing or no one can prepare you for parenthood!) but I’m loving every single minute of it.

Being self employed and on maternity leave has really made me reflect on my career and appreciate the pro’s of being a freelancer while starting a family.

It also definitely comes with its own challenges (mostly financial thanks to statutory maternity pay) 🙃 but all worth it to spend quality time with my little Indie 🧸

The plan is still to return to work in the Spring / Summer - will be in touch with all clients as soon as I’m back and ready to hit the ground running 📧

🤝🏼 30 hours of coaching delivered
📝 16 copywriting projects complete
📧 12 email campaigns produced
📲 144 social media posts designed, developed and circulated
💴 £231,517 raised for charities and over £1.5mil in submitted (and pending!) applications through grants, trusts and foundations fundraising

And my proudest achievement… growing my baby girl 👣

Maternity leave update 🍼

As you can see - I have a hitchhiker on board! We’re expecting a little girl in December and I’ll be logging off next week to start my maternity leave.

Another website launch complete 🚀

The team at Hautbois Activity Centre wanted to modernise their site, make it more user-friendly and easier for their team to edit the back-end.

26-pages later with SEO enhancements, and their new site is live.

We even managed to take their logo font and code it into the website, to make sure the design really encapsulated the Hautbois branding.

I made a pledge at the start of the year to better track my new enquiries 👩‍💻

As we hit mid-June, I wanted to share my half-year findings with you all!

I'm fortunate to receive much of my work from existing clients and monthly retainers, but found it really interesting to look through data from my new enquiries...

I wish I would have done this 6 years ago when I first launched, as I remember lots of my new enquiries coming from Instagram back then, but it looks like there's been a real shift to Word of Mouth as I've become more established. 💭

⭐ Funding opportunities for businesses, charities, social enterprises and community groups ⭐

I often work with organisations and founders who have lots of great ideas, plenty of passion and a real demand for their services, but need a little financial boost to really reach their goals...

While the grants and trusts climate is definitely a competitive one, we're fortunate to have a fair bit of support here on the Norfolk / Suffolk border! There's even a handful of businesses who give out small grants each year to support local charitable causes.

It can be hard to know where to start when researching grants, so I've come up with a short list to get you started - a quick Google of the funder's name should take you to their website, eligibility criteria and application details.

Last week we launched the Drama Mavericks sparkling new website to help this small but mighty CIC showcase their offering 🎭

The Drama Mavericks is performing arts company based in Norwich, hosting a variety of shows, modern writing, classes and workshops.

The team were after a contemporary-looking website to attract new members, raise awareness and sell tickets for upcoming shows. We turned around a design - from commission to launch - in less than a month, and went to the extra mile to train the team on how to edit the site themselves when they need to make small changes in the future!

Really pleased to say I’ve been awarded a 3-year contract with Norfolk County Council as a Digital Advisor (freelance) through the Go Digital Programme!

I’ll be joining a talented pool of other advisors offering a range of digital skills as part of the programme.
