Throwback to a logo I designed for a Grubby Paws Dog Grooming Ltd. I love how this turned out. The image of the dog is the owners own dog, which I sketched from a picture she provided.

🧐 What is is the difference between RGB and CMYK colour modes? And why do we need both formats of our logo?

Well here's the thing - A logo needs to live in both digital and print spaces.

➡ RGB is used for screens: websites, social media, emails, apps etc.
➡ CMYK is used for print: business cards, packaging, signage, merchandise etc.

If a logo only works in one colour mode, colours can shift or appear dull in print, leading to an inconsistent brand across platforms and a loss of control over how the brand is perceived. A professionally designed logo is supplied in both RGB and CMYK to ensure it stays clear, recognisable and consistent everywhere.

Let me design a logo that's ready for all spaces!

Ever wondered what these words actually mean?

🐝 Bleed line - the edge of the bleed area
🐝 Bleed area – the extra space beyond your design that ensures your colours or images go all the way to the edge after cutting
🐝 Cut line – where the printer will actually trim your design
🐝 Margin – safe zone inside the cut line so important text or logos don’t get cut off.

Creating a bleed is a small, but important step in making stunning print products.

Sketching plays a significant part in my work, and here’s why.

Before the polished designs, before the final concepts, there’s always a sketch. I use sketching to brainstorm, explore possibilities and bring thoughts to life quickly and freely.

From simple pencil drawn sketches in a notebook to experimenting with digital tools, sketching allows me to think visually, solve problems creatively and refine ideas before they evolve into something bigger.

Do you use this method in your line of work? Maybe you just use a notepad and pad a lot to write down idea? I'd love to hear all about it! Comment below!
