A lot of testimonials sound positive but do very little selling.
“Great service, highly recommend” is kind, and no business is going to complain about receiving it. The issue is that it does not answer the questions a potential buyer is usually asking.

Can this business handle my kind of problem?
Will the process be clear?
Has someone similar trusted them before and felt glad they did?

That is why specific testimonials carry more weight.
Not exaggerated claims. Or dramatic before-and-after stories unless the evidence is there.
Just useful detail.

What was difficult before?
What became easier?
What did the client value about the process?
What would they tell someone in the same position?

A testimonial does not need to be polished to be persuasive.
It needs to reduce doubt.

Most About pages start too far back.

Founded in 2012. Family-run. Passionate about quality. Years of experience. Friendly team.

None of that is wrong.

The problem is that customers are usually looking for something else first.

Can I trust you?
Do you understand my problem?
Have you helped people like me before?
Will this be easy, awkward, expensive, slow, confusing?

That is what they are really checking.

Your story can still matter, but it should help the customer feel more certain. Otherwise it becomes a polite little history lesson sitting on a page nobody finishes.

A better About page connects your experience to the thing your customer is trying to decide.

Less “here is our life story”.

More “here is why you are in safe hands”.

Ever feel like you need a fresh idea every time you post?
Good news: you don’t.

Say you run a local café and you’ve just added a new lemon drizzle cake to the counter.
That one idea could become:

1️⃣The story post
“Meet our new lemon drizzle cake, baked after three rounds of taste-testing and one very passionate debate about icing thickness.”

2️⃣The behind-the-scenes post
A quick video of the glaze going on. No fancy editing. Just sticky, shiny, scroll-stopping goodness.

3️⃣The customer post
“First review is in: ‘I only came in for a coffee.’ Famous last words.”

4️⃣The business post
“Why we add seasonal specials: small changes keep regular customers curious.”

5️⃣The engagement post
“Important local research: lemon drizzle or Victoria sponge?”

Same cake. Five angles.

Your business already has stories, products, people, processes and opinions worth sharing. You don’t need to reinvent the wheel every week, you just need to look at one idea from a few different angles.

Want an easy win to help people find your business online?

Too many businesses rely entirely on their website, then wonder why nobody is finding them.

Your Google Business Profile, reviews, social media, directory listings, backlinks, and even how consistently your business information appears online all help people discover you.

Your website is important. But it should not be the only place your business exists.

The businesses that get found online are usually the ones showing up consistently across the web.

One of the biggest challenges in business is being too close to what you do.

You know your services inside out.
Your customers don’t.

What's obvious to you can be confusing, unclear, or easy to miss completely for someone seeing your business for the first time.

That’s why the businesses that communicate best online are usually the ones that keep things simple. Clear messaging almost always beats clever wording.

If people have to work hard to understand what you do, most won’t. They’ll move on to something that's easier to grasp.

Sometimes the best thing you can do for your marketing is to get an outside perspective.

AI can now give you information in seconds. There are more courses, guides, and content available than ever before.

Because of that, information on its own is no longer the valuable part.

What people are really buying is trust. They want to learn from someone who explains things clearly, makes them easy to follow, and feels like a safe pair of hands.

That’s why some people sell information, while others build real, lasting businesses from it.

It’s not just about what you know anymore. It’s about how you communicate it, and whether people trust you to guide them.

Your website might be SEO optimised.

But AI doesn’t rank websites the same way Google used to.
It chooses what to include in its answers.

And it favours content that is clear, structured, and genuinely useful.

That means:
• Answering real questions
• Explaining things simply
• Showing real expertise
• Being consistent across the web

It’s no longer just about being found.
It’s about being chosen.

If you want to make sure your website is set up for how people search now, let’s have a chat.

How much of your revenue is actually allocated to marketing?

For many businesses, the answer is… not much. Or not planned at all.

As a rough guide:
• Sole traders should be investing around 5 to 10%
• Growing businesses tend to sit closer to 7 to 12%

But here’s what we see all the time.

Businesses aren’t setting a budget based on their revenue. They’re spending here and there when things slow down or when they feel like they need a boost.

And without a clear plan, it’s very easy to waste money on marketing that doesn’t go anywhere.

That’s where strategy makes the difference.

If you want to make your marketing budget actually work for you, talk to us.

Most small businesses don’t have a marketing plan.
They have marketing moments.

A quiet week? Boost a post.
Things slow down? Try some ads.
Got a bit of time? Post something on social.

It feels like marketing.
But it’s reactive, inconsistent, and hard to measure.

The businesses that grow aren’t just doing more.
They’re doing it with a plan.

If you want a clear view of what’s working, what’s not, and where to focus next, we can help.

Most businesses think they know who their competition is.

It’s usually the company down the road or someone offering the same service. Makes sense.

But in reality, you’re often competing with something far less obvious.

People’s attention.
Their time.
And how easy something feels in the moment.

If your website is slow, confusing, or takes a bit of effort to figure out, most people won’t stick around to compare. They’ll just click off and go with whatever feels quicker and easier.

That’s the real competition. Not just being better, but being the easiest option to say yes to.
