Ring ring. ☎️
It’s me. Just calling to remind you who the f**k you are.
Because sometimes life has a funny way of making you forget.
You start comparing yourself to people who seem to have everything figured out.
You question your decisions. Your abilities. Whether you’re doing enough. Whether you’re enough.
And before you know it, you’ve forgotten about all the things you’ve already survived, learnt, built and overcome.
I know that feeling.
I’m 35. I’ve changed careers more times than I can count, started businesses, closed businesses, lost people I love and had moments where I genuinely didn’t know what came next.
I’ve also had to learn that having a brain that doesn’t always make life easy doesn’t mean I’m any less capable of building a life I love.
And now here I am, sitting in my very own photography studio wearing ridiculous sunglasses and pretending to answer a telephone. 😂
Life is funny like that.
So on World Mental Health Day, here’s what I want to say.
You don’t have to have everything figured out.
You don’t have to be productive every day.
You don’t have to be the strongest person in the room.
And you don’t have to wait until you’re feeling like the best version of yourself to be proud of who you are right now.
You’ve already made it through days you thought you wouldn’t.
Give yourself some credit for that.
And if today isn’t a good day, you don’t have to turn it into one just because someone’s posted an inspirational quote on Instagram.
You’re allowed to have those days too.
Anyway, that’s your reminder.
Now answer the phone. I’ve been ringing for ages. 😂☎️
