I'm a big fan of an in-depth customer avatar. You can get so much out of them to inform your marketing strategy.

Here are three ways creating great customer avatars can benefit your business:

1. They help you work out your customers' biggest frustrations. You can tell your ideal clients how working with you can help overcome theirs.

2. They help you find the best way to talk to your customers. There's no point talking in jargon or ways that won't resonate with them.

3. They help you find out about their aspirations. What motivates them and how can you help them get their desired results?

It's a great exercise to do as a team. And such an excellent opportunity to take a closer look at how you're marketing your service or product.

This might make me unpopular among all you lovely restaurant owners, but I have to say it. Results from your marketing can take time.

Great marketing doesn't necessarily bring results straight away.

Why is this?

If we're talking about organic social media marketing, results can take a while to realise because:

• It takes time to build an audience
• It takes time to encourage that audience to engage
• It takes time to get an audience to know, like and trust you enough to invest

Results from paid marketing (Meta Ads) can be quicker because:

• The audience may be there already; you're just tapping into it
• You can target audiences that are already inclined to take a specific action
• You can target the audience that you have already nurtured

You will never get the desired results if you don't start marketing to potential clients or customers. So my advice to you is to invest in marketing for your restaurant business NOW so that you can reap the rewards LATER.

Invest in a professional. You're much more likely to see those results.

If you're not sharing testimonials from clients showing how you got the results they want, e.g. a financial return on their investment, you need to start that now.
