This week has been one of those weeks that reminds me why I do what I do.
As part of my work as I’ve spent time sitting down with some brilliant across and , helping them think about visibility, consistency, and — ultimately — how they get and keep more customers.
That’s included meeting :
• ’s Record Store (Olaf Parker)
• (Sarah Parker)
• Gravesend Model Centre (James Langley)
• New York3rs (Rita Khan)
• Bat & Ball Sports (Graham Martin)
On the surface, the conversations are about marketing, customers, and growth.
But underneath that, there’s often something else going on.
Even successful business owners — the ones grafting every day — can quietly suffer from imposter syndrome. That nagging voice that says “Am I doing this right?” or “Everyone else seems to have it figured out.”
Sometimes what makes the biggest difference isn’t a flashy tactic.
It’s having someone alongside you to:
sanity-check your thinking
reassure you that you’re not missing something obvious
help you focus on what actually matters
and remind you that you can do this
Local businesses are the backbone of our towns. They deserve proper support, clear thinking, and practical help — not noise or jargon.
If you’re running a business in Kent and feel like you’re carrying it all on your own, you’re not unusual… and you don’t have to stay that way.
Sometimes progress starts with a conversation.
