🧵❤️ A little update and clarification from From Rags To Stitches ❤️🧵
Seeing as there appears to be a little confusion in certain quarters about what I do these days, I thought I’d clear it up myself. Saves the stalkers doing it for me! 🤣😉
My bricks and mortar From Rags To Stitches shop closed after Covid.
After the shop closed, I ran a small social sewing group from home for my lovely ladies. It took place one day a week, on a Thursday from 10am until 2pm, with approximately five ladies attending.
It was never a daily sewing school or a programme of courses. It was a small group of ladies getting together once a week to sew, have a cuppa, put the world to rights and enjoy each other’s company ☕️🧵❤️
And just to make the timeline crystal clear, that group finished over two years ago.
These days I sew for my own pleasure and occasionally cherry pick the odd embroidery job if something takes my fancy. I do not run sewing classes or courses and I do not run a sewing business from my home.
I keep this page because I still have some lovely followers who have supported me for many years. I enjoy showing you what I’ve got on my machines, sharing what I’ve been making and hopefully giving somebody a little inspiration along the way. 🥰
An active page and the fact that I still own and use my sewing and embroidery machines doesn’t turn my home into a business premises. It simply means I still enjoy a hobby and craft that has been a huge part of my life for many years. ❤️
As for what I actually spend a lot of my time doing these days, I’m now on the committee at Maltby Catholic Club, regularly covering duties on Bingo and Band nights, and I’ve recently been appointed as a Trustee too.
So I’m certainly still keeping myself busy! 😂
And actually, it suits me perfectly because I’m doing what I love most, meeting people, having a laugh, socialising and getting involved in our local community. 🥰
From Rags To Stitches is a chapter of my life that I’m incredibly proud of and I have absolutely no intention of hiding away the memories, photographs or things I still make simply because somebody might choose to interpret them differently.
So there we go. Straight from the horse’s mouth rather than the keyboard grapevine! 🤣🧵❤️
Now… back to enjoying my sewing when I fancy it and my very busy social life when I don’t! 😂🥂❤️
