"What a beautiful thing to leave behind a world that's brighter because you were here." 🤠
25th August 2026 - Dolly Parton and The Delegate Wranglers
Yesterday's conference and summer party at De Vere Tortworth Court was a hug in an event.
I've been quoted before saying the more I lean into this community, the more I get out of it. And my claim endures, c/o the opportunity to leave behind the everyday grind for 24 hours, be in the moment, and connect in the spirit of both sector specificity and shared values.
These threads were nicely woven through every session:
🤗Culture Club: How Company Culture Pays - "How we do things round here" to bring our values to life. It's an intangible something people create together and can just as quickly self-select out if you get a reputation for a toxic culture.
🤗How to Build a Personal Brand Like a Marketer - The importance of defining your "to, who, what, versus, is", while getting comfortable with cringe, crickets and being uncomfortable.
🤗AI for Humans: Life Hacks, Work Wins and Reclaiming Your Time - Everything from different tools, the need for uniform embedding across your organisation, how creativity can be exponential, but data security is still a potential issue.
🤗Find Your Kryptonite, Build Your Superpower - How overusing your strength can cost your work and your sanity. Red flags include capability rewarded with another plate to spin, magicians with another impossible task, and calm folks aren't checked on.
🤗Smartphones for Smart People: Shoot Live Like a Pro - A high energy closing session from Jeanette Lendon. I now have a grid on my camera screen to level up my photo quality. 🤳
Then, bubbles and canapés before party time, where the news broke about Dolly Parton. Serendipitously, we were aptly dressed to stomp, scuff, hitch and do-si-do in her honour.
The ginormous-est thanks and congratulations to Team DW on a slammin', meaningful event. You captured the textured combination of business and pleasure the events industry is all about. 🙏👏🙏👏🙏👏🙏👏
I can't wait to reconvene with many of you for CHS, closer to home in sunny Manchester, in September.
Who's coming?
