Yesterday, we made heart health the centre of our conversations. ❤️

Transparency, honesty, humility, and unity were present throughout the event, and we have bottled that energy, learning, and passion for future initiatives around heart health.

Cardio Conversations Live brought together healthcare professionals, public health leaders, community organisations, people with lived experience, and local residents to discuss one of the most important health challenges facing our communities: cardiovascular disease.

What stood out wasn’t just the expertise in the room, it was the willingness to listen, learn, challenge, collaborate, and work towards solutions together. The conversations were real. The stories were powerful. The commitment to improving heart health outcomes was undeniable.

This event reminded us that meaningful change happens when communities, health systems, and individuals come together with a shared purpose. Yesterday was not the end of a conversation…it was the beginning of a movement.

A huge thank you to every speaker, panellists, partner, volunteer, and attendee who helped make this event such a success.

Together, we are creating a future where more people understand their heart health, access support earlier, and feel empowered to take action. ❤️

Healthy Hearts start within the community and this is what we are championing. ❤️

Manchester Local Care Organisation and Freshrb Health Media are proud to present Cardio Conversations Live: Advancing Heart Health Through Equity & Innovation: a powerful stakeholder event bringing together voices from public health, the NHS, community organisations, lived experience, and media to reimagine how we engage communities around cardiovascular disease (CVD).

This event will showcase how storytelling, podcasts, social media, and digital innovation can help raise awareness of heart health, tackle inequalities, and reach communities that are too often left out of the conversation.

We’ll be joined by an incredible line-up of voices from the podcast and in person including Dr Cordelle Ofori FFPH, Dr Supritha Rao, Dr Aseem Mishra, community leaders Nusrat Acheampong, Javeno Mclean, Sandy Koujou, Samuel Kalejaye, Christina Muzariri, Juliette Bucknor Kondwani Chirwa Oladamola Babalola local residents, and health professionals, all united by one mission: making heart health conversations more accessible, inclusive, and impactful.

If you work in public health, healthcare, research, policy, community engagement, or simply care about reducing health inequalities, this event is for you.

Together, we can move the conversation from awareness to action. 🎙️🔥

Out of the deepest loss can come the most powerful purpose.

And this story we produced Freshrb Health Media shows exactly that.

After experiencing the devastating loss of their child, Mark Smith and Yoriko chose not to be defined by grief but to transform it into something that could support others facing their own storms.

Our community premiere screening of “Like A River” last week Friday, sharing the story behind ManLeigh CIC, was a truly moving experience. The room at Leigh Miners Welfare Institute was filled with reflection, emotion, and a shared sense of connection. A reminder of how powerful storytelling can be when it’s rooted in truth.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us and to those who continue to support the vital work being done through ManLeigh. This story is not just about loss, it’s about resilience, compassion, and the courage to turn pain into purpose.

Thanks to all the people that made this happen
