Thrilled to be coming to the close of the year with news on a new project for 2026, working with homecare provider Abicare✨

It’s an exciting brief in a sector where we have lots of expertise, and we will be working once again with a previous (not wanting to use the word ‘old’ here!) contact from a number of years ago.

Starting immediately, we’ll be helping to refresh a long established and much loved successful regional business and help re-shape it for the future, supporting the team with comms, copywriting and creative campaign ideas as the company aims for growth, recruitment and expansion across the South West 🇬🇧

Anyone else wondering where this last quarter has gone?

It’s disappeared in the blink of an eye.

With Halloween, half term and Bonfire Night all firmly behind us, it’s now less than six weeks to go until the festive break.

Between the ‘before we finish for Christmas’ deadlines, client lunches and social events, and planning for the early part of 2026, not to mention everything there is to do and coordinate at home, the next few weeks can be super stressful so it pays to be super organised.

List making and a bit of daily structure go a long way to keeping calm, focussed and on top of things.

Here’s our top tips for staying in control:

✨ Prioritise like an absolute pro – at work and at home. Not all tasks are equally urgent, decide what needs to be done and by when and work through it in order. Not what you’d like to get done, but what HAS to be done, after that you can supplement with additional activity to get ahead.

✨ Focus on your skill set – there’s two of us, so we can divide and conquer, we each know our skill sets and can allocate work to our strengths for speed and efficiency.

✨ Eliminate noise and distractions in your working environment – now is not the time to multi-task, put your phone out of reach for an hour or so at a time and close out of emails to allow yourself to fully focus on the task at hand.

✨ Make a list – we are both lovers of a good old-fashioned list on paper along with the joy of crossing off. We usually have two lists, side-by-side, the work list and the home list, so that while we are winning on the work front and crossing tasks off, we don’t forget own clothes day, the teacher collection or the school carol concert.

✨ Break your day into chunks – we plan in time for deeper work, strategy and writing, and treat these like meetings, with time blocked off in the diary. Plan these in when it best suits your working style, tackle your hardest tasks first thing in the morning so that the day doesn’t run away with you, it always feels better when they are done.

✨ Don’t skip breaks – take time away from your desk to recharge and refresh, taking a walk in the fresh air at lunchtime resets the mind and makes for a more productive afternoon.

✨ Declutter your space – a tidy desk and an organised inbox make it easier to concentrate.

✨ And finally, switch off and rest – it might be tempting to work late into the evening but this doesn’t really set you up for success the following day when you’re often just too tired to be effective. Take it from us, we’ve been there 😊

Today was all about making connections, both old and new.

Dropping into our regular networking event with Alex McCann and Altrincham HQ at the fabulous The Con Club Altrincham, we were delighted to see the Happy Radio UK team, meet Max Eden, Siobhan Johnston and catch up with our old mate Darren Proctor (cue lots of catch up chat and a coffee date set for next week).

Hearing from the team it’s good to know that true local radio is growing in importance again; we absolutely agree that there’s no substitute for high quality locally-relevant programming, human connection and radio presenters that are happy to get behind us and our client businesses to make an impact. 👏

And wonderful to make some new connections, looking forward to seeing you both next time Georgina Mills and Samantha Smith.

Can you believe we’re nearly half way through the year…. we blinked in February and we’re now in the middle of June.

After a brief break at half term, we’re full steam ahead in the office again, with the half year mark providing the perfect opportunity to reflect on the last six months, celebrate some fantastic achievements, acknowledge some outstanding tasks that are still not complete, and adjust our strategy to end the year on a high. 💥

Looking back we have so much to celebrate, some wonderful wins, large and small retained clients keeping us busy, plenty of good news to distribute, all of which is being really well received, there have been events of all sizes planned and delivered and there are some exciting projects in development behind the scenes. 🙌

We’re also on track with our aim to network, build good working relationships and do more face-to-face meetings. Teams is great for a quick catch up but doesn’t replace the good energy that comes from meeting in person. 🌱

We’re acknowledging that we’ve had some setbacks and challenges, they don’t define us and we will absolutely overcome them. When one door closes another one usually opens bringing new challenges and exciting new working partnerships to get stuck into. 👏

We will continue to focus on what matters most – delivering the best service for our clients, being grateful that we are now approaching our 11th year in business (again, where did that time go) and nearly 25 years working together (surely we’re not that old!). 😆

So much to look forward to over the next six months. Remember you are capable of achieving great things, set the goals, do the work and enjoy the journey. 🙌

Tell us about your business for any of our readers that aren’t aware of you?
We are a full service boutique public relations consultancy offering bespoke communications campaigns for brands of all sizes and across all sectors.

We have offices in Altrincham and Cheadle Hulme but work across the whole of the UK.

What’s been your highlight of the year?
Celebrating 10 years of Philosophy PR.

We have worked together for 25 years now in total, which is a great achievement.

Building up to a fantastic year end with a number of new client wins.

We’re so excited for what 2025 will bring.

What is the one thing in 2024 you’re ditching?
That’s a tough one….maybe not ditching anything but definitely doing more positive things in 2025 from exercise and wellbeing to travelling and simply seeing/doing more in Manchester itself.

What is the one thing you’re introducing / ramping up for 2025?
We’re continuing to focus on good networking, relationship building and generating awareness via consistently showing up on social media.

What is your biggest lesson / learning point / tip of 2024 (that others could learn from)
That you can’t be everything to everybody, if you’re honest, transparent, work hard, don’t overpromise but do your best to overdeliver, the right people, partners and clients will find you and you’ll enjoy working together. Love what you do too!

We spent three minutes in extreme cold temperatures at Cyro Revive in Wilmslow earlier this year and are excited to do it again in the new year.

With British summertime officially over, it’s starting to feel very autumnal as the leaves turn gorgeous shades of red, gold and burnished brown 🍂

In London for some media meetings we took the opportunity to check out .bakery on the aptly named Floral Street in Covent Garden. Check out that fabulous floral window arrangement!

Winners of the UK’s Best Croissant in 2023 and 2024 🥐 they also serve a fantastic selection of handmade breads, cakes and pastries plus incredible open top sandwiches, artisan coffee and smoothies.

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day and this place is definitely a contender for the UK’s best breakfast; we sampled the croissants (and can confirm they were divine) along with some wholesome avocado on sourdough plus coffees and thought it was all fabulous. The perfect start to a great day of meetings 👏
