Let’s talk logos…

A logo doesn’t define your business and it takes more than that to build a brand, but we all know that first impressions count right!?

Your logo is often the first glimpse into your business, which is why having one that reflects the quality of your service/product is soo important.

It sets the expectation for what your client or customer can expect to receive, almost like a promise of what you will deliver, so when there’s thousands of other businesses for them to choose from offering the same as you, is the first impression they have of your business enough to set you apart?

Let’s think of branding your business a bit like your designing your life...

To build the life of your dreams you need to get real & practical with yourself first, by looking at:

~ where you’ve been
~ where you’re at
~ where you’re going

So, in order to move forward you must first look back - only to notice the seasons that didn’t work out so well and those where you shone ✩

Evaluate the factors that made up both the successful and the not so successful times and take only what you need from them to move closer to where you want to be.

An intentional life or brand comes from understanding your history, your present & your future and having a strong enough desire to invest (mentally, financially, energetically) in moving towards the dream… ♡

Just as in life, the same goes for your brand: When you try to appeal to everyone, you appeal to no one.

Watering down or hiding parts of who we are because we’re trying to be liked by everyone leads to an empty and unfulfilling life, sure you’ll attract people but they won’t be the people who are truly meant for you. Eventually the real you is dying to be seen and that’s not what these people signed up for!

If you’ve created your brand in a way that you’re trying to attract as many people as you can, the same will happen there too. You might draw in a few customers/clients but when they get closer they’ll realise that what you’re offering doesn’t suit them.

Using Brand Strategy to establish who your target audience are and developing a brand that appeals directly to them means no one is left disappointed because you’ve been authentic from the start, leading to customer/client retention and referrals.

Is anyone else obsessed with all the interior design shows on Netflix at the moment? 🙋🏼‍♀️

RECENTLY BINGED:
- Designing Miami
- Dream Home Makeover
- Your Home, Made Perfect
- The Home Edit
- Instant Dream Home
- Buying Beverley Hills (more about the drama than the homes!)

I meeaan, is that too much?! 😂

But I’m finding myself really drawn in by the design elements and thinking about the similarities between branding and interiors…

Listening to how the designers talk about creating spaces is just like how we talk about creating a brand.

We’re aiming to create something that flows, that holds personality, that is stylish yet serves a purpose, that captures your attention but is subtle at the same time.

A space needs to be liveable just like a brand identity does. It needs to stand the test of time by being made up of timeless classic elements but also able to adapt and grow as trends fluctuate.

You see?!

Anyway, if anyone has any other design show recommendations please let me know because I just cannot get enough! 🙏🏼

What does your logo say about your brand?

Your logo is how your business will be identified, recognised & remembered to not only your customer but anyone who comes across your business.

For this reason, ask yourself…

“Does my logo accurately reflect my brand?”

e.g.
~ Is it delicate in line with the dainty products I sell?
~ Is it bold like my outgoing personality they’ll experience when they work with me?
~ Does it have a modern sophisticated design that ties in with my place in the market?
~ Has it been intentionally thought out representative of how much I invest into my business?

When someone sees your logo, they should also be seeing your brand.

Something I love about working with women, aside from the fact we’re just amazing (!), is hearing the stories behind the business - because we all have one.

~ Maybe it’s a lifelong innate drive to be entrepreneurial
~ Maybe you have a strong desire to help people based off a personal experience
~ Maybe it’s a new passion that you’ve realised is your calling

Whatever it is, it matters.

As women it has been engrained in us to stay small but times are changing and our stories, our hard work and talents are starting to be seen and taking up space.

We have the power to inspire each other, become visible in business, create strong relationships and networks.

One of the ways to do this is through the subtle yet powerful mode of branding to reach and relate to your audience.
