In the beginning...
Our agency was set up by former Manchester United graphic designer, Nigel Daws, in 1999. He wanted to set up a creative agency that focussed on delivering beautiful design work that engaged with customers. As a small business, he quickly caught the attention of brands like Interflora and 3i - and was able to move quickly to harness clients’ requirements for both traditional an
d digital marketing collateral. Then things took a dramatic change. A client of pixel8's, Jamie Watson, recognised the standard of work that our agency was doing - akin to the quality and standards being produced by the big agencies. Through a shared vision for pixel8, Nigel and Jamie joined forces and split the creative and account management responsibilities down the middle - giving pixel8 the resources to develop into a regional agency. Then we started to evolve...
We soon began focussing on three core services: branding, integrated marketing, and digital asset management. Each one of these services guides our agency to this very day - so, in other words, it’s our job to refresh brands, execute campaigns, and enable our clients to drive brand value through control and consistency. Our team has grown substantially since then, but we are unusual for a small agency in that we are able to offer full service solutions and utilise all our skills together with that of our established partners. Things have changed a lot since pixel8 was first founded. But we like to think we’ve stuck to our roots and continue to deliver excellent results with the attention and dedication that comes from a small agency. With backgrounds in accountancy, software, and even fashion/retail, the pixel8 team are a truly diverse bunch. And we are as comfortable working with international brands as they are with those in the ‘Big Smoke’ and around the corner in the Northern Quarter.
