Introducing Amy Winson | Design & Branding

After 4 years of University, graduating from the University of Huddersfield with a First Class Honours Degree and working on so many fun projects along the way, it’s finally time to have a refresh on my own branding.

I want to take this time to thank all of my existing & new clients for all the continued business over the past few years.

Grub Boy - Final University Project

I’m excited to share with you all my final University Design Project.

Brief: Owning a medium sized dog is the equivalent to owning a large SUV, not only is a dog unsustainable but their diet is 30% of the environmental impact of meat consumption. British Veterinary Association suggests dogs should eat insect diets in kibble form to prolong a healthy life. Grub Boy is a playful dog food brand with a light-hearted approach to environmentally sustainable design.

UNIVERSITY FINAL PROJECT: SPECIAL STUDY📝

What is a Special Study? A special study is the design interpretation of your written dissertation.

My Dissertation - A Designer’s Responsibility to Sustainability exploring whether the designer, manufacturer or consumer is responsible for the design and the sustainability of a design.

My special study challenges the “cradle to cradle” method suggested by Michael Braungart and William McDonough focusing on products having a cycle and not having an end goal of the landfill.

The intent of my dissertation is to be read, teared to shreds, used as a snuffle box for dogs to play with using dog friendly paper and consumed. The ultimate end will be used as compost.

IZZY HARRISON PHOTOGRAPHY | Logo Design📸

The client wanted something very minimal and to represent her photography brand, by using the “O” in the last name to create a subliminal message of a camera lens, by filling this in it creates the idea of the camera shutter closing. The client also wanted a border of some kind and by adding a rectangular border it frames in the logo similar to a frame for an image.

The client also likes how the branding can work in either black or white which was important for variation.

HQ VALETING - Professional Mobile Valeting Services 💦

What started as a logo design has now evolved to all things digital and print. Seeing my design printed on the vehicle is always a surreal feeling.

HQ Valeting wanted the branding to be super modern and clean along with an eye catching colour finish of blue and midnight grey.

From social media highlights, stories and posts, business cards, a “valeting menu” to create something fun and different over a standard price list, appointment cards, uniform, vehicle graphics and floor matts, this project has been a start to finish branding package.

I look forward to working on more design and print for HQ Valeting in the future, it looks great seeing it all come together 🙌🏼

Working with a minimal approach for a logo for a startup brand in the equestrian world, the client wanted something sleek yet simplistic at the same time. Using a dark and gold colour scheme to create a sense of luxury.
