Nobody wants to talk about...
The Handover Gap
Most companies don’t lose leads because of bad marketing or poor sales performance.
They lose them in the handover gap.
That invisible space between MQL and SQL where good intent quietly dies.
Here’s how it usually goes:
🎯 Marketing celebrates because a lead filled in the form...job done, right?
📩 There’s little or no nurture afterward...maybe one generic email, then silence.
📞 Sales finally gets to the lead a few days later. No answer.
😩 The rep gets disheartened, tries once more, then moves on.
⏳ The follow-up fades, and the lead… just disappears.
Some leads simply forget.
Others genuinely feel neglected because they reached out, showed interest, and got ghosted by the brand they were curious about.
It’s not a lead problem.
It’s a handover problem.
Bridging it takes shared accountability, where both Marketing and Sales own what happens after the form fill:
✅ Fast follow-up (minutes, not days)
✅ Nurture that keeps interest alive
✅ Consistent follow-up cadence and messaging
