After 15 years of wearing clothes that did not fit my body shape, I would go shopping for hours but come back empty handed. My wardrobe was uninspiring and filled me with dread. No matter how much money I spent on new clothes, I always wore the SAME OLD CLOTHES. Style for me was someth

ing unobtainable, what others were able to master- the rich, the famous were able to flaunt. I was stuck in a rut, wearing clothes that didn't represent who I was or even flattered my body. But I had just had a BABY and was on a maternity salary so I could no longer afford to use shopping as a way of 'fixing' my style problem. So I made a commitment to IMPROVE MY STYLE. I decided to focus on the clothes already in my wardrobe. I noticed I had alot of clothes I wasn't wearing because I'd forgotten they existed and I didn't how to style them. I started by getting rid of the clothes that made me feel crappy and kept the clothes I ACTUALLY LIKED TO WEAR. I took better care of my wellbeing and started noticing the helpful things I could do to improve my personal style. There was a lot of stress at the time, my mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer and was on palliative care. Style became my lifeline. I would spend HOURS RESEARCHING & EXPERIMENTING different style personalities. A welcomed distraction from the pain of loosing my mum. In 2018 I 'got' it. My personal style was actualized and honestly, I HAVE NEVER LOOKED BACK! Style has given me an inner strength, a confidence I never imagined I had. It got me through the painful trips to the hospital to be by mum's side. When I am dressed in keeping with my Signature Style I FEEL INVINCIBLE. I AM STRONG. I CAN FIGHT ANYTHING 💪

I wanted to use Savvy Style to help other women overcome their personal battles. I stand out from the crowd by focusing on wellbeing 🧠❤ and offering a unique personal styling service. I help my clients identify their unique Signature Style and BUILD CONFIDENCE INSIDE OUT.

We love posing, eating, dressing up (very fancy), laughing and we generally don't take ourselves too seriously.

Why? Because we've suffered too, we've experienced great loss, deep sadness, huge life changing shifts.

So we celebrate now because we appreciate what it's like to love deeply, to have abundance of love, to have health.

The free things in life are indeed priceless and family is for sure at the top of that.

I recently attended a classy birthday celebration in Kinshasa. The dress code was very clear- black tie ⚫️

So I opted for a 'Hollywood Glamour' look which made me feel a million dollars 💸 That feeling carried me into the evening with confidence 💪
Following a dress code is such an integral part of dressing for an event. It shares the message that you're paying attention and is respectful of other people's wishes- definitely a sign of professionalism, especially when attending work related events/networking!

On this trip, I felt called to stand on the ground and let my feet feel the soil of my birth place where my ancestors are laid to rest.
💜
My goodness, the downloads that came in this moment were powerful, beautiful and clear.

Today, I stand tall not as a victim, but as a survivor.
💜
I speak to my pain, my problems, my past & my generational trauma- No more fear, no more chains.

I'm not the same, I'm standing strong FREE from the curses, trauma, and fear.

I'm rising up with strength & power on the land of my ancestors, love, peace & freedom are my birthrights.

I survived complex trauma, domestic abuse, multiple grief, spinal injury- I'm still standing, still here through the storms, the loss of friendships, the loss of loved ones, the emotional floods that almost killed me.

KINSHASA surpassed any expectations! The people, the food, the culture and most of all my family.

This trip was epic beyond all measures! But it was more than just a holiday, going to Kinshasa for the 1st time since aged 8 was a spiritual journey ✨️🙏

After everything I've been through, standing on the land of my ancestors opened me up to receiving HUGE downloads from the Divine (very wooo I know, but if you know, you know)

I have come back rebirthed, carrying the essence of my homeland with me. This would not have been made possible without my beautiful family.
💜
Siblings, nieces, nephews and great nieces & nephews all gathered together to celebrate our beautiful sister Nicole and enjoy much needed family moments.

There was a time when I would spend hours and hours shopping, looking for 'that' perfect outfit, the look that will impress/turn heads.
💜
Back then, I was chasing validation, joy through the gratification clothes provided. The hit never lasted long, I would wind up looking for the look/dress again and again.
💜
Over the years I have dug deep and done the inner work needed to delve into firstly- WHY am I chasing validation? HOW are clothes maintaining this addiction to dopamine?
💜
This lead me to a journey of self discovery where I've learned that validation is best cultivated internally - seeking our own approval gives us greater power over the choices that matter to us... like, what to wear for ourselves rather than fir others.
💜
This outfit was born from applying this approach to personal style. Focus on what makes you feel good, wear the colours that make you feel great and have fun creating an outfit just because.
💜
Wear what you feel drawn to wear and just do you and the blessings will naturally follow, you don't need to chase them- they'll find you. This is about dressing intentionally & with wellbeing in mind and letter the Universe do the hard work for you ✨️👌🌈
