WordPress 7.1, entitled "Mary Lou", was released overnight. It contained a lot of new features and a couple of styling elements, as well as a few accessibility improvements. In my latest blog post, I detail what's changed and what's new. You also get a couple of new blocks!

Once again, I'm happy to announce that I'm sponsoring Colwyn Bay Football Club for the 2026/27 season.

Last season saw our best ever finish in the Welsh leagues. Hopefully we'll see a push for Europe.

Just over a week ago I attended WordCamp Europe 2026, the largest European conference for WordPress, which took place in Krakow.

It's no secret that the community has been a bit low the past few years, but it felt like it was a real return to form for the largest piece of software that runs on the internet, with some interesting discussions and some real progress in key areas coming out of the event.

Krakow was a great place to go to, but what were my thoughts on the conference? Here is my thoughts on the event. Link in the bio.

WordPress 7.0 - Codenamed "Armstrong" - was released late last night. This version had a bunch of changes and is quite sizable. Revisions, a new admin interface, better block control, fonts and yes ... AI.

Probably the most significant release for ages, WordPress 7.0 lays the foundation for the next phase of WordPress. Read what's new in my latest blog post. Link in Bio.

Today I'm delighted to announce the release of Preload LCP Image version 1.6!

This version begins adding support to WooCommerce, allowing you to preload those key category pages, quickly and easily by using the featured thumbnail as a default image to preload.

You can control individual page, but it should help improve your Google Site Speed Score!
