WordPress 7.0 - Codenamed "Armstrong" - was released late last night. This version had a bunch of changes and is quite sizable. Revisions, a new admin interface, better block control, fonts and yes ... AI.

Probably the most significant release for ages, WordPress 7.0 lays the foundation for the next phase of WordPress. Read what's new in my latest blog post. Link in Bio.

Today I'm delighted to announce the release of Preload LCP Image version 1.6!

This version begins adding support to WooCommerce, allowing you to preload those key category pages, quickly and easily by using the featured thumbnail as a default image to preload.

You can control individual page, but it should help improve your Google Site Speed Score!

This month's blog post is another blog post which I wish somebody else wrote. Cloudflare has a wonderfully easy to use "security rules" that allow you to write code to allow and block traffic. One such service that I use is ManageWP.com. Here's some code that uses Cloudflare's security rules to allow all ManageWP addresses through it, so you are still blocking bots and dodgy traffic, but allowing ManageWP to handle backups and uptime/security monitoring.

Part of the reason WordPress did so well in the beginning was it's site structure. Fairly easily you could build URLs that were easily indexible by search engines. That, along with plugins like Yoast, tend to mean that setting up an SEO friendly site fairly easily.

Today I'm delighted to release Revive to Sky version 1.1!

This version introduces a "Test Connection" button, that will - obviously - allow you to test the connection between your WordPress blog and Bluesky. So instead of guessing that it's working, you can make sure it's working before a post is published. It also cleaned up a bunch of minor issues within the plugin.
