Aristotle once quoted,
“The wise man does not expose himself needlessly to danger, since there are few things for which he cares sufficiently, but he is willing, in great crises to give even his life, knowing that under certain conditions it is not worthwhile to live.”
Which can connect with another one of his quotes…
“Whosoever is delighted in solitude is either a wild beast or a god.”
My thoughts regarding this is that unless you expose yourself to danger you would never have the capability to deal with it especially under unforeseen circumstances. You could easily give up way before you have the chance to work out a solution. So for similar reasons is why we should never get too complacent and sometimes we should take ourselves out of our comfort zone and learn to deal with situations that could affect anyone of us at any moment. Learn new skills to keep yourself safe and also it’s an opportunity to understand someone else’s life experience and if a crisis happens you could also help to keep somebody else safe.
What an amazing thing to have an opportunity to learn new skills,
Especially from values that was taught so long ago!
