What if the ladder we’re all climbing was never right in the first place?
Finally finished Falling Off The Ladder by Helen Hill. Met Helen through the .affinity, thanks to Mike Edwards. Honestly, a godsend when you’re early stage self employed. So many great people. Especially those who’ve stepped away from corporate life and properly get it.
Over the years I’ve met some incredible women through this space. Supportive, honest, generous. The kind who become friends, collaborators and your biggest supporters. I value that massively.
One thing that’s stayed with me over the past 9 years is this. Support others. Help where you can. Give back. It’s one of the most fulfilling parts. Always appreciated by the small businesses, startups and young people I’ve had the honour of working with. The ones who value it never forget it.
Helen’s book is a great reminder that there isn’t one path.
You find your own way.
People will always have opinions. That’s fine. What matters is what you do with them.
Take it in. Think about it. Then decide what’s right for you. That part is in your control.
Great read if you’re starting out or even if you just need a reset.
Grateful for the friends, supporters and collaborators who’ve been part of my journey. Thank you ☺️
