I haven't been freelancing long, but it's been a massive learning curve. I've loved every second of it - the freedom, the independence, being my own boss. But it's safe to say that it does also have its downfalls - the uncertainty, the lack of a steady pay cheque etc.

So, I'm giving up my freelance hat for now as I've just got a new job as a content producer. I'm unbelievably excited to join a huge, supportive team where I can learn, progress and grow.

And maybe one day I'll come back to LP. Who knows what will happen in the future! But I do know that I've made the right decision for me, my family and my career. And I can't wait to keep adding strings to my bow!

Thanks to all of my clients for choosing me to write for them, and thank you to everyone who liked, shared and interacted with LP.

This week, I've been focussing on my professional skills. I wouldn't have any of these skills if it wasn't for my growth mindset.

This is something I always used to teach to my kids. I had so many students who walked into my classroom thinking they were inherently s**t at English. So I would spend an entire lesson on growth mindset, what it is and why it proves that NO ONE is inherently bad at something.

Everyone has to the ability to be good at something if they instill the belief that they can do it.

With a new career comes new skills.

One of the skills I'm still learning (that's not mentioned below) is the lingo. Every day I'm learning new phrases that I've never heard about. And usually, once I find out what they mean, I'm actually doing what the phrase refers to.

So, top of funnel content is my thing. It's where my strengths lie and where my passion shines. But I didn't know it was called top of funnel content until just a few weeks ago!

Every day's a learning curve.

Leaving teaching was pretty scary. Once you're a teacher, you always feel like you can only ever teach. But actually, there are so many transferable skills that you gain from teaching. And these skills work wonders in the world of content marketing.

Good morning, everyone!

This morning has consisted of toddler meltdowns, emails, socials and coffee. And it's only Wednesday. Going to work truly is a day off when you're a mum. 😂

When I started my role as a content writer, I had no idea what the difference was between this and a copywriter.

"Aren't they the same thing?!"

Yes, they both write words. Yes, they both work in content marketing. But they're actually pretty different.

So, to clear things up, I've written an article explaining the differences and benefits of each role in the world of content marketing. I've also added a little bit about SEO (because I love SEO 💜 ), and why it's essential for both content and copywriters to stay customer focussed.

In all honesty, I'm slightly proud of myself for putting this together. The thought of building a website filled me with pure anxiety. (I put it off for a few days thinking it was going to be too bloody hard.)

My Instagram has been hacked. RIP insta ❤️ Thankfully, my platform wasn't huge as I only joined a few weeks ago, but I am now low key petrified of rejoining and this happening again 6 months down the line.

But it's Friday, so we need not worry about the socials til Monday!

Happy Friday! Pour the wine. Order the takeaway. Have the lie in. (Unless you have a toddler. Then you're up at 5am.)

It's been a month since I officially went freelance. And it's been a whirlwind. I've learned an incredible amount, and I'm so excited to keep acquiring strings to my bow.

Going from education to marketing and then to freelancing has not been easy! But I've loved every part of the challenge.

I'm now delving into Instagram marketing, something which I've never done before. It's daunting. It's overwhelming. And it makes me feel pretty old. But I'm getting there.

Whilst I'm a bit of a whizz with content and SEO marketing these days, insta-marketing is a whole different ball game! But after a few shouting matches with Buffer and Canva, it's becoming much easier.

Thank you to everyone who's following me and engaging with my content. I'm only at the beginning of this journey, and I'm incredibly excited to keep building this platform (and improving my Canva skills!).
