The countdown to May Churches Festival, West Lindsey, Lincolnshire begins ⏰.

Visit 119 historic churches in Lincolnshire on 9-10 & 16-17 May. 74 organs to play. Lots of cake.

Photo of Corringham church here by our own Ashley Taylor.

The West Lindsey Open Churches Festival website has now been dusted down and polished for 2026 (that's means about 135 pages updated including a page on each of the 119 churches and chapels taking part). You can visit all these churches over two weekends: 9th - 10th & 16th - 17th May (all free entry).

Pages to explore include:

- The A-Z list of all churches, with each list entry giving you a link to that church's own pages. New ones for 2026 are noted.
- Brochure: where you can download a PDF of the brochure or order a print copy
- Lunches: churches serving meals during the festival.
- Music: organ recitals happening across our churches plus Choral Evensong at Lincoln Cathedral on Thursday, 14th of May 2026, 5.30pm (full details are to be confirmed with our music events, so keep an eye on this page and social media!).
- Reviews: what visitors think of the festival (you can give us your reviews when you fill in the Brochure Request Form).
- Maps: a Google Pin map, where every pin can be clicked for more information on that church and a link to their page. These pins can be used on your phone to navigate you to the church too.

The website can be found here: https://www.churchesfestival.info/

This fantastic photo is of Corringham St Lawrence, taken by Ashley Taylor of Push Creativity Studio, Lincolnshire. A church has stood on this site for over 1,000 years. This church is open: 16-17th May, Saturday 10.30am - 4pm β€’ Sunday 10.30am - 4pm

Another 3D model created from recent scans of Lincoln Cathedral by our 3D artist Ashley Taylor (how lucky we are to be located nearby?)

You'll see in the video clip you can rotate them or zoom right into the carvings, and even peek around the back (where the software presents them as hollow and creates the Hollow Face Illusion!). You can play around with the model on our Sketchfab page, link in the comments.

These carvings can be seen at ground level (at the west door), but for heritage buildings like this we think it this kind of scan could be used to capture carvings from more hard to reach places and get them online for visitors to enjoy.

If you're looking for some romantic heritage to explore in Lincolnshire, Asterby church is well worth your time. Located in East Lindsey, and west of Louth, the church dates back to the 14th century and is no longer open to the public, but the graveyard is (wear some sturdy walking boots).

Our photographer Ashley Taylor took these in September (he was visiting this church for video work, but could not resist taking some photographs too), and is now planning to return on a frosty day like today!

We'll put link to the Historic England Research Records for the buildng in the comments, for those of you that want to take a deeper dive into the history.

Call us old fashioned but we love to see things in print. And what a thing to shout from the rooftops for this Lincolnshire village: come and visit the UK Church of the Year at Old Bolingbroke!

And the nice thing with Old Bolingbroke is you can visit a national award winning church, its fantastic heritage exhibition, and the ruins of the castle next door. Head to PE23 4HH and follow them here Old Bolingbroke Church - Friends of St Peter & St Paul

Incorporating a drone image by our photographer Ashley Taylor, our work on this banner also included graphic design and copy, with the aim of getting people walking, cycling or driving by to stop and visit.

And we want to thank another client here, the National Churches Trust, for instigating the National Church Awards and celebrating the amazing work that people do (most of them volunteers) to care for these heritage buildings.

Merry Christmas Lincolnshire! How many landmarks can you spot in our infinite 3D animation celebrating all things Lincoln?

Our 3D animator Ashley Taylor has also put himself in the video, complete with steampunk hat and silly dance to the music, totally out of character (not).

Do please share to wish your friends a very Merry Christmas, stuffed with love from Lincolnshire. Wishing you all the Comfort and Joy this year, from the team at Push Creativity (the people who pushed the baubles down Steep Hill a few years ago).

Congratulations to our client Old Bolingbroke Church - Friends of St Peter & St Paul who have just been awarded Church of the Year by the National Churches Trust.

The drone image here was taken by our own Ash Taylor (with the castle remains in the background) and we've also helped the team at Old Bolingbroke create their website, so we've been following their journey for some time now.

Wonderful news and so well deserved!

Huge well done to our own Angela Montague for managing the social media for WordFest Lincolnshire.

And she was working with two brand new social media accounts for this event, only created in May.

Let's take a moment to thank the many people (and venues) who made a success, with this 'film credits' style post: so many people to acknowledge!

If you took part in any way, give yourself a pat on the back from bringing literature, arts and history to the Wolds this July.

Don't forget we have Gainsborough WordFest on Saturday 13th September (Gainsborough town centre) so save the date and watch this page for all the details on that!

We're delighted to see our photography promoting the May Churches Festival, West Lindsey, Lincolnshire using images from our own Ashley Taylor.

The event takes place on the 10-11th and 17-18 May with a record 103 churches open this time.

Perhaps the best way to explain the appeal is to quote a visitor:

"If ever a reason is needed to visit beautiful Lincolnshire, this is it. Every church provides its own treats - interesting architecture, friendly volunteers, delicious refreshments, picturesque churchyards - even the drives from one church to the next are a pleasure." Beth Sliwinski from Sheffield

Lovely to see our photography being used to promote the May Churches Festival, West Lindsey, Lincolnshire again.

So many churches, so much history!

War graves at one of our festival churches, Scampton's St John the Baptist.

Visitors can use interactive screens to explore the history of the people who are buried in the 107 military and war graves in this churchyard. This includes Australian, New Zealand and Canadian air crew, as well as British. There are also eight graves for German aircrew of two aeroplanes brought down nearby.

Visit this church as part of our festival on 10-11th May, Saturday 10am - 4pm β€’ Sunday 11am - 4pm. Postcode: LN1 2SE.

New rambling video from our videographer Ashley Taylor, visiting a part of North Lincolnshire you might not know about. That turf maze, looks magical. And they have a bird hide with THREE flights of stairs. Have you been here?

Blurb on the video: "A sunset walk alongside the Alkborough flats (near Scunthorpe), an unusual English landscape where three rivers meet. Starting at the mysterious turf maze known as Julian's Bower (origins unknown), we'll encounter bird hides, the remains of a World War II observation post and a mini lighthouse. Includes drone footage of this wetland landscape, featuring reedbeds, wet grasslands, lagoons, scrub, and mudflats on the river. This site is a haven for birds and birdwatchers!"

Ash makes these videos as a hobby and a reason to explore the landscape, although they do involve a lot of his professional skills. He's got over 50 now on his channel.
