Last month, we had the opportunity to attend Sky Media’s Addressable Advantage event in Manchester, a deep dive into how TV is evolving into a true performance channel.

Both part of The Sandwell Colleges, these campaigns focus on something really powerful… representation.

Working with students on set, we built the creative around real role model heroes, helping to create an environment where future learners can truly see themselves.

The aim is simple: show that these are safe, supportive, diverse and inspiring places to learn and grow 💛

Because when students feel like they belong, that’s when they thrive.

🧠 From surviving… to thriving

We recently had the opportunity to attend The Mental Edge: For Those Ready to Stop Surviving & Start Thriving, and it genuinely challenged the way we think about performance, pressure and personal growth.

The session explored Mental Toughness and how it differs from person to person. It highlighted the everyday stressors we often normalise, and the real impact they can have on our behaviour, emotions and decision-making.

Through a high-level questionnaire, we uncovered the collective mental toughness profile of the room. What stood out? Different scores aren’t weaknesses, they’re opportunities. Opportunities for deeper self-awareness, stronger resilience and intentional development.

Our Account Director, Andy Sterling, shared:
“The session forced me to be more self-aware by understanding the 4Cs Control, Commitment, Challenge and Confidence. It’s encouraged me to think more deeply about shifting from simply surviving workplace pressures to proactively thriving in both my personal and professional life.”

Receiving individual reports gave each of us a clear, practical snapshot of where we are and where we can grow next. Insightful, actionable and genuinely thought-provoking.

🌸 Celebrating International Women’s Day 🌸

To mark International Women’s Day, some of the incredible women who make Forward & Thinking what it is today attended the Ladies Lunch at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hull in Hull last Friday and what an incredible afternoon it was ✨

From the moment we arrived, the room and setup were absolutely stunning, creating the perfect setting for a day full of celebration, inspiration and generosity. We were also treated to a brilliant talk from guest speaker Liz Earle, whose stories and insights were truly inspiring. With a DJ, live singers and an amazing atmosphere throughout the afternoon, it was a fantastic event bringing so many people together for two incredible causes.

Together, the room helped raise an incredible £50,613 for the The HEY Smile Foundation and the Sailors'​ Children's Society, supporting the vital work they do across our community 💗

Even better, we shared a table with our friends at Diony, making the day even more special with great company, plenty of laughs and lots of support for a fantastic cause.

And just when we thought the afternoon couldn’t get any better… our very own Fiona walked away with the top raffle prize, a stunning piece of diamond jewellery kindly donated by Hugh Rice Jewellers 💎 Safe to say there was a lot of excitement at the table!

An unforgettable afternoon celebrating incredible women while raising vital funds for our local community.
