A huge thanks to for choosing this fab pic of our Inigo for the latest edition of their magazine. Shot a few years ago at our favourite for
I can’t remember why Inigo pulled that face - other than ‘smile’ we tend never to force poses or expressions, - maybe he was just in the moment!

Did you know that sticky content can be one of the most effective ways to strengthen your brand and improve user experience on your website?

It’s a UX strategy we often use in our designs here at Silverless — and for good reason.
Sticky (or fixed) content refers to any element that stays visible as the user scrolls. When thoughtfully implemented, it can significantly improve usability, engagement, and overall flow. Here are just a few key benefits:

Improved Navigation
Sticky navigation bars, menus, or sidebars keep key sections of your website constantly accessible, helping users move more intuitively through your content — and reducing friction.

More Visible CTAs
Persistent calls-to-action like “Buy Now,” “Subscribe,” or “Contact Us” stay front-and-centre, boosting engagement and conversions by ensuring users never lose sight of the next step.

Context That Stays With You
Sticky content can help users maintain context as they scroll. For example:
Filters that remain visible while browsing product listings A floating table of contents on a long-form article An interactive map that stays with you — like the one we designed for Frigate Island, which follows users as they explore activity listings for the destination

Looking back, moving forward.

We love revisiting our past projects, not just for inspiration, but to see how far we’ve come as a design agency. This one still feels as fresh and innovative as the day it launched.

This web and brand project for the stunning Fregate Private Island in the Seychelles was created entirely during the Covid lockdown. That meant we couldn’t visit in person to capture photography and film.

Our solution was to build an interactive 3D map of the island so visitors could explore every inch from their screen.

We commissioned a local photographer to take high-resolution shots from a helicopter. From just 31 images, we reconstructed the island using a blend of 2D and 3D technologies, bringing its remote beauty to life online.

It’s proof that with the right ideas, even the most challenging circumstances can spark extraordinary results.

Let’s create something extraordinary together.

Thursday’s Top Tip comes from our Senior Designer, Mitch, who shares some valuable advice on image quality and choosing the right resolution for different projects:“Image quality can make or break a print or web project, so always check the resolution. For print, we recommend 150–300 DPI/PPI, while for web, a minimum of 72 DPI/PPI is ideal.”

How to check image resolution:

On Windows:
1. Right-click on your image file and then select “Properties”.2. Navigate to the “Details” tab to view you image resolution.

On Mac:1. Open your image in “Preview”.2. Once opened, go to “Tools” and then “Show Inspector” to view you image resolution.

Tailoring our services to meet client needs.

Building a brand from the ground up is always exciting. From strategic positioning to logo design, through to visual identity and marketing rollout, there’s something deeply rewarding about shaping a brand’s full story.

But that’s not the only way we work. Many clients already have a strong identity they love, and simply need fresh assets to match their ambitions. That was the case with The Flower Hub — a bold, playful, and vibrant brand with a personality they were proud of.

Their challenge was that their website didn’t reflect the professionalism and authority they’ve earned as one of Kenya’s leading flower distributors.

We redesigned the site to stay true to their identity, while introducing a clean, crisp, and well-structured framework — one that can grow with their business. The launch coincided perfectly with their certification as a B Corp, aligning the new website with the prestige of such a milestone.

Discover how we can elevate your brand and create a website that’s a true reflection of who you are.

In response to ’s new Liquid Glass design language, unveiled at WWDC in June this year, digital design tool has launched a native Glass Effect. This allows designers to create beautifully organic, glassmorphic interfaces directly within Figma — and it’s a game-changer.

With intuitive controls like refraction, depth, dispersion, and frost, designers can now craft hyper-realistic, minimal glass materials that integrate seamlessly into modern digital design projects. It brings a fresh, futuristic aesthetic that feels genuinely next-gen.

But, as with many visually rich design trends, there are important real-world considerations before implementing these effects on a live website.

Performance
Real-time glass effects are GPU-intensive and can significantly increase resource usage, especially on mobile or older devices. This can lead to poor performance, or even render the site unusable for some visitors.

Accessibility
Glassmorphic UI elements can introduce contrast issues, particularly when overlaid on variable backgrounds. This makes text harder to read and may violate WCAG guidelines. It could also affect your SEO performance.

Browser Compatibility
Not all browsers fully support the CSS properties that power these effects (like backdrop-filter). This means experiences can vary across different users and platforms, potentially undermining the design consistency.

Our takeaway
Figma’s new Glass Effect is a powerful, inspiring tool. But it's best used strategically. For production environments, we recommend applying the effect sparingly, or exporting it as a static graphic when needed. When thoughtfully applied, it opens up exciting new possibilities in web design.

Lately, has been treating designers to some fantastic new Photoshop features that streamline everyday workflows. One update that might slip under the radar, though, is the introduction of native support for the AVIF image format in the latest June 2025 Photoshop release.

That’s right—Photoshop now lets you export images directly in AVIF format, without the need for any third-party plugins.

If you're not a designer or a tech enthusiast, you might be wondering: what is AVIF, and why does it matter? AVIF is a modern image file format—similar to JPG or PNG—but with far more efficient compression. It delivers high-quality visuals at significantly smaller file sizes, and in some cases, can even enhance image quality.

So, what does this mean for our clients?

Smaller file sizes lead to faster website load times, better user experiences, and ultimately, happier customers. What’s not to love?

This Week’s Top Tip comes from our Operations Director and digital guru, Ash, who shares why it’s important to check your asset file sizes before uploading them to your website:

“Keep your website fast by optimising images before uploading. Large file sizes slow down load times, hurt SEO, and frustrate users. Using modern formats like WebP or AVIF can drastically reduce file size without losing quality. The good news? Our websites handle this automatically—converting images to the right format behind the scenes. It’s just one of the many ways we make things easier and more efficient for our clients. A faster site means a better user experience, stronger mobile performance, and improved rankings. Speed matters—don’t let bulky images hold your site back.”

Here’s how you can also to keep your images optimised before uploading, even if you don’t own Adobe Photoshop:
Resize before uploading – Use built-in tools like Preview (Mac) or Photos (Windows) to set the image to the actual size needed on your site (e.g. max 1200px wide).
Compress online – Tools like TinyPNG shrink image file sizes with no visible quality loss.
Choose the right format – Use JPEG for photos, PNG for graphics with transparency, and WebP for modern, efficient performance.

Let’s work together.
