Colour matching in embroidery is a lot more technical than most people realise 👀

When selecting thread colours, I often work closely with customers to make sure we’re achieving the closest possible match to their branding—because even small variations can make a big difference to the final look 🎨

There are a few key factors that can affect this:

✔️ Dye lots – slight shade variations can occur between production batches
✔️ Pantone references – a guide for colour matching, but not always a perfect direct thread equivalent
✔️ Thread brand differences – even “similar” colours can vary slightly between manufacturers

That’s why I use trusted, high-quality threads such as Madeira and Isacord, which are known for their consistency, durability and excellent colour range 💼✨

It’s these behind-the-scenes details that help ensure your branding looks sharp, consistent and professional every time it’s stitched 🧵👌

A trip away yesterday and night away with the family 🥰

On our way back home and had to stop for a drink 🥵☀️ A quick photo with this iconic landmark in the background🛸 — the Pennine Tower at Lancaster (Forton) Services on the M6.

Always something I remember from trips when I was younger.

It got me thinking… should this actually be a tourist experience in its own right? 👀

I’m imagining embroidered caps, tees, maybe even “I stopped at Forton Services” merch becoming a thing 😂

It’s funny how places you pass on a motorway so many times can end up feeling iconic in their own way.

One of my favourite parts of this job is working with so many brilliant local businesses 💖

This week included delivering workwear to businesses across the area—including the lovely team at Maryport Born and Bread in Maryport 👀🥐

(If you know… you know 🤤 cinnamon buns, focaccia and sausage rolls that are WELL worth the queue 😂)

I’ve also had hen do tops on the go, embroidery running and lots more behind the scenes this week 🧵✨

It’s busy… but I genuinely love seeing local businesses investing in their branding and growing 💼😊
