I went for 12 job interviews in a single month.
I received 0 offers.
But then something CRAZY happened!
..
There was a point in my life that I was happy but wanted more.
I wanted my Dream job.
So I scanned the Internet and picked 12 'dream jobs'.
In each interview, I was myself. Laid back, funny (trying) and loud.
And then the calls came through.
Sorry, you haven't made it. Sorry. Sorry.
All 12 rejected me!
My pride was knocked. I questioned my capabilities, my strategy, my knowledge.
This went on for months.
Then one of the interviewers emailed me.
'Fancy running my marketing agency? I didn't hire you as my replacement, you wouldn't like it, such a nasty environment'
Then another interviewer:
'I'm a consultant now but too busy, can i pass clients your way, I trust you'
Then another:
'We couldn't afford you'
Then:
'I left.. now my startup has been funded, can you help with the SEO?'
7 of the 12 interviewers contacted me praising, recommending or wanting to work with me. 2 are now my clients.
So if you find yourself getting rejection after rejection, remember there are dozens of factors that come into play with a job and sometimes your capabilities aren't one.
Maybe it's because you like to eat boiled eggs in the office or you make stupid knock-knock jokes.
