We're all loving the new House of Colour butter balm shades!
A great option for those that want a bit of colour, or don't like lipstick. 👄

Is this something you would try?

Sometimes all we need is a small update to feel lighter, brighter, and more confident.

My recent client wanted a natural look with a bit of glow, nothing heavy, just fresh and easy.

My role is to get makeup to work for the client, whatever their skin conditions or concerns. We revisited the essentials, including the three points of red, and worked with what she already had in her makeup bag.

She wasn't keen on the lipstick colours, so I tried a lipstick cocktail and created something she loved!

The best part? She didn’t need to buy lots of new makeup. I was able to create something with what she had, and simply refined what worked, added a touch of glow, and created a look that felt completely natural and right for her.

A small refresh can make a big difference.

Are you ready for a Mini Make-Up Refresh?

Another lovely client for a experience; her objective a wardrobe that feels easy and natural, but with a bit of edge.

She admitted she’d been stuck in a shopping rut, often gravitating towards the same colours and safe choices.

I found an unusual sparkly cape top in chestnut. Not something she would have picked herself, but when she tried it on, she absolutely loved it.

We also found a red dress which she wouldn’t normally choose and we could transform a simple dress into both a relaxed daytime look and a dressed-up outfit for occasions.

That’s where I come in. Gently pushing boundaries and showing what’s possible.

You can know all the theory in the world, colours, style, trends, but shopping together is where theory becomes reality.

And honestly, it’s such a joy to see someone step outside their comfort zone and love the result.

B***y from the Shopping Trip with Jane

Here’s the fabulous haul from my recent shopping trip with Jane, a Natural Classic, Brown Summer, including yellow!

One comment stuck with me: "I don’t think I can wear yellow." Then we found it, a beautiful primrose yellow linen top. Not something she would have picked herself, but when she tried it on, she absolutely loved it.

Her main challenge was familiar: She already had lovely pieces in her wardrobe, but struggled to make them work together.

With just 7 new items, we were able to create 52 complete outfits that connect beautifully with what she already owns.

That’s the power of thoughtful shopping, not more clothes, just the right clothes working together.

Putting theory into practice - a fabulous personal shopping session with two lovely clients.

We met at a coffee shop on George Street, chatted about what they were looking for - an upcoming occasion, a wardrobe challenge, or simply a certain piece of clothing.

I know their colours, their personal style, body architecture and proportions, so we were able to create a focused plan before we even stepped into the first shop (I do my homework beforehand!)

This is what makes working with me so effective.

In just 3 hours and 7 shops, we used a simple but powerful system:

🔶 Try key pieces
🔶 Ask assistants to hold items aside. Move on to the next shop
🔶 Return and make confident decisions
🔶 All the possibilities for purchases put together in House of Colour LookBook

The result?

Carefully chosen items, creating many possible outfits, built in one afternoon.

Shopping with direction, clarity, and confidence (and with me as your independent shopper!) truly makes all the difference.

Another fantastic House of Colour Conference!

Last weekend was our annual House of Colour conference, and it reminded me once again that we really are like a family. It was so special to be together again, sharing ideas, learning, and catching up with wonderful colleagues.

Here are some photos of our amazing team, from Scotland, Ireland and Greece, such a brilliant group of supportive, talented people.

There was plenty of workshopping and learning during the day, followed by fun and laughter in the evenings (the perfect balance!).

Better together really sums it up ❤️

Mother's day is an emotional time for me as I miss my mother so much. She passed away before I trained to become a House of Colour consultant but I think she would have been quite proud of what I do now.

This day with Bridget and her daughters reminded me of her and what wonderful gifts we can give to each other as daughters and mothers.

My mum, the beautiful Marjory would have loved this.

When I set up my Studio the night before a class, I never know what will happen.

The next day, I had the most fabulous time with this lovely group of two daughters and their Mum - all different seasons - a Summer, Autumn and Winter celebrating Bridget's birthday.

They brought the nozeco and I provided the glasses. Cheers! 🎉🥂

I had a lovely day with a group of 3 friends from East Lothian earlier this month.

We were so busy, we forgot to take photos of the day. They had to dash off to the school run.

A Sultry Winter, Blue Autumn and Blue Spring this time!

Thank you for the lovely comments!

I loved it too!
