When I think honey I think of ‘clover’ or ‘lavender’ … something that instills a cottage garden vibe in my head 🪴 🐝

So when the lovely Jo and Huw of Raw Welsh Honey Candles said to me ‘try the Buckwheat’ .. I’ll be honest and say I hesitated. 😬

Fool that I am … because I’m now using it on everything .. Greek yoghurt, blue cheese .. even a tiny dollop in my green tea ( more about my conversion to green tea another time ).

But I think what also intrigued me was the information that this honey is on a par and slightly better than Manuka .. yet a fraction of the price 🤔 🍯

So what’s going on ?

Marketing. Scarcity. Testing.

It’s as simple as that.
Manuka is a tricky plant to grow and harvest and incredibly rare to find in the UK.

The Manuka publicity machine has taken two key things here … scarcity and amazing properties and priced accordingly.

Elements I think we often struggle with in our businesses … do you jump too quickly to be available ?

Or perhaps you are not great when it comes to shouting about your amazing products and skill ?

Creating content with Canva templates is a bit like serving your clients a pot noodle.

And yes, there’s a time and place a place for a bit of instant pasta .. I get it.

But why would you want all your social media feed to look like it’s just come off a production line ? 🤷‍♀️

You and your business are unique, you have a real passion for what you do, stories, products, ideas, vision … so why are you out there, in the biggest of marketplaces, wearing the same jeans and t shirt as everyone else ?

It’s scary ? It’s time consuming ?
You just don’t know where to start ?

I’m inclined to think it may be a slight panic out there that I’m seeing … but it’s a reminder again that if your business relies on your authenticity, tread cautiously.

If even the slightest thing flags as AI then it will simply become ‘the norm’ rather than address the more important issues of copyright and plagiarism 🤷‍♀️

Is it just me ? 🤔😬

My glass isn’t just full … it’s slung around my neck and perched on my head … because try as I might I cannot adapt to vari focals 🤓

And now … well now, I’m even tempted by a third pair … the ‘over glasses sun glasses!’ 😅🙈

Ever blink and another month has gone by ? 😬

Now x that by 5 and here I am … right where I fully intended to be in January 🙈

The heat has driven me into a cool recess of my home and, fuelled with my mushroom gummies ( more about those later ) I’m finally carving time here.

How are you all doing ? Apart from melting 🫠 🥵 ☀️😅

Me? Well … lots on in the studio yes, and I’ve also been busy working with amazing women ( some of you are here, I know ) on content creation and inspiration.

I’ve loved this so much, filming at locations, chatting over coffees, and so will be talking more here about
