☀️ What a day to be exploring the Northumberland coast!

The Visit Northumberland team had a fantastic time yesterday on a FAM visit with Golden Gate Farne Islands Boat Trips, enjoying blue skies, sunshine, and unforgettable views out at sea. 🚤

One of the highlights? Landing on Longstone Island, home to Grace Darling's iconic lighthouse. Golden Gate Boat Trips is the only boat tour that offers visitors the chance to step ashore and enjoy an exclusive guided visit to this remarkable piece of Northumberland history.

🎬 in the Spotlight: Forever Home Premieres on Channel 5

We're delighted to see Northumberland showcased on screen in Forever Home, a new six-part drama adaptation of Graham Norton's bestselling novel, supported by the North East Production Fund delivered on behalf of the North East Screen Industries Partnership (NESIP) by North East Screen.

Filmed across Hexham, Stocksfield and Morpeth between January and March 2026, the production highlights both the region's stunning locations and the wealth of creative talent based in the North East.

The cast includes regional actors Denise Welch, Kevin Whately, Lewis Cope and James Baxter, while a number of key production roles were also filled by local industry professionals.

Productions such as Forever Home demonstrate the value of investment in the region's screen sector, helping to support local jobs, skills development and destination awareness while showcasing Northumberland to audiences nationwide.

📺 Forever Home airs on Channel 5 at 9pm on:
• 14, 15 & 16 September
• 21, 22 & 23 September

✨ Looking to make the most of Northumberland’s world-renowned dark skies?

Northumberland Coast National Landscape is hosting Star Tips for Profit, a workshop designed to help tourism businesses create memorable after-dark experiences, attract visitors beyond the summer season, and work towards Visit Northumberland Dark Sky Accreditation.

Part of the Northumberland Coast Dark Skies Project, the workshop takes place on 2 October at Craster Memorial Hall and will explore how businesses can tap into the growing demand for dark sky tourism.
