The Christmas ad is out and wow it is wonderful. It could not have come at a better time for those of us working in recruitment. The UK has the highest number of children in care it has ever had and a shortage of foster carers/supported lodgings. I really hope this wonderful advert inspires those who have been considering fostering or doing supported lodgings to enquire with their local authority. It’s given us so much inspiration for the Christmas season ahead! It’s fantastic to see arguably the biggest Christmas advert with all its expectations, marketing power and connections using their platform for good! Some say it isn’t Christmassy and prefer the other more jolly adverts but to me this is what Christmas is all about: helping others, kindness, family, children, doing good deeds, highlighting big issues and helping those less fortunate to have a good time at Christmas. So many children in care need this sort of support and I hope this spurs enquiries for !

How to boost your engagement in the run up to 🎄🎁

1. An advent competition. These are great if you have a lot of products on offer or things to gift your followers. They can really boost your following but make sure to stick true to your brand so you’re getting interactive followers.

2. Caption contest- these can be great fun and a good ice breaker for a team meeting too!

3. Share the and do some charity work and share it.
4. Post festive polls. Find out who at work prefers Christmas caroling to crafting for example! It can help you organise fun events.

5.Host a christmas party/event and share photos and videos from it. Why not try a TikTok video trend, or a Christmas jumper competition at your event.

Out of office ON ✅

Albie and I have been working hard these past few months- sorry for no regular updates as we’re working full time for our clients Gateshead Council Fostering Service doing marketing and recruitment work, trying to get more foster carers for children in need in Gateshead.

But we have decided to have this week off to recharge as it’s been nonstop since May 😅 we started our weekend off with a trip to the beach, Albies first time! He went swimming in the sea and we visited some of fave pubs and had a lush fish and chips for our 6 year anniversary 🥰 now the rest of this week is about prioritising life outside of work, chilling out, tidying up and working on some exciting stuff!

One of the BEST parts of the job I do is when you finally see the work you’ve done out in public. 😀
On a trip to the beach on I saw the fostering ads that I had a hand in making happen. I’m really glad that we’ve gone with that extra call to action if using QR codes on our adverts, I’m hoping it will get us more people clicking through to see our website!

I really hope these are seen by people keen to foster children in need, as there are so many more children in care now and we urgently need more foster carers. It’s also all about planting the seed in peoples mind that maybe one day they could foster so we have foster carers for the future. 🏡
(I have to admit I did squeal and get up out my seat to go grab a photo of this, causing a lot of people on the Metro to stare 😂)

Hello instagram we’re back! 👋The white dog and I haven’t been too social recently due to our busy working schedule but I felt we needed to do one update letting you know what we’ve been up to.

We’ve been working full time for our client fostering service, helping them with their marketing and recruitment of foster carers. The adverts we have worked on have started appearing around and it’s been an interesting few months learning about fostering.
Albie has also been championing the rights of the with his Dad at the strikes, very proud of him and his wee bandana! The other part to what I do is blogging and video creation: which I’m now finding more time for now that I’m balancing and personal life a bit better.

I am currently enjoying working with Gateshead Councils Fostering Service on their digital marketing,recruitment and retention of foster carers.

There is a severe shortage of foster carers in the of England and there are many children needing a variety of foster placements from emergency to long term, aged from babies to teenagers.

“Do I need a spare bedroom to foster a child?” 🛌

This is one of our most asked frequently asked questions at our online fostering information events.

The short answer is yes. If you wish to foster a child aged 3 or older, they must have their own room in your house. However, if you wish to foster children under two, they can sleep in a cot in your bedroom.

Having their own room is important for the safety, privacy, play and emotional needs of a child in foster care. They need a safe place where they can relax, play and be themselves.

COVID finally got me after two years 😷 not feeling too grand as you can imagine, so content might not flow too fast on here as I’m a one man band! But I have the best dog-tor on hand to help so I’ll be back next week 👋

When working from home in warm weather, it is important to take the necessary precautions and to be resourceful and find use for other items (in this case a roll of labels makes an excellent ice cream stand). 😂
