When it comes to online marketing in the coaching space, you are told over and over again that you need to niche down your audience so your messaging, your offers and your content resonates and has more impact with a very specific ideal client avatar.⁣

But at what point is TOO NICHE?⁣

In any industry there are 4 core market requirements that you need to meet regarding your audience before proceeding, and some of you may be struggling because your not able to meet all 4 of these. ⁣

Can you say YES to each of these...⁣
✅ My audience are in real pain with a big problem that I can help them solve.⁣
✅ My audience has the money to invest into my offer and are also willing to invest into it.⁣
✅ My audience are easy to target, get my message and offers in front of.⁣
✅ My audience is a growing niche with more and more potential clients coming into it every year.⁣

Now I want you to really think about these 4 point and honestly ask yourself if you can say a BIG YES to each and every one of them.⁣

If you can't, you may need to pivot slightly until you can.⁣

I see a lot of coaches bang their heads against the wall because the niche they have chose simply doesn't have purchasing power or they aren't willing to invest into solving the problem that the coach can help them with, or the coach struggles to get their message in front of their audience because the audience is so small and so specific it's hard to find them. ⁣

I'm going to use one of my clients as an example to help hit home this points...⁣

We'll call her Amy for the purpose of this.⁣

Amy is a coach who works with singles moms who have left a toxic relationship with their ex partner but yet still need to deal with them on a daily basis because of the children. This causes the mom to feel extremely stressed and causes her a lot of anxiety. ⁣

So lets look at this audience...⁣

Firstly let look at this audience broad and work our way inwards until we hit the target audience...⁣

👉 Single Women⁣
👉 Single Women with Children⁣
👉 Single Women with Children and a Toxic Ex Partner⁣
👉 Single Women with Children and a Toxic Ex Partner who are extremely stressed and anxious ⁣
👉 Single Women with Children and a Toxic Ex Partner who are extremely stressed and anxious and need help⁣
👉 Single Women with Children and a Toxic Ex Partner who are extremely stressed and anxious and need help and can afford to get help⁣
👉 Single Women with Children and a Toxic Ex Partner who are extremely stressed and anxious and need help and can afford to get help and are willing to pay for it⁣

Now imagine each one of these as a circle which represents the size of this audience.⁣

Inside each circle you then place the next circle which is the slightly niched down version.⁣

By the time you go from 'Single Women' as the outer circle (niche) all the way down to the very specific audience of 'Single Women with Children and a Toxic Ex Partner who are extremely stressed and anxious and need help and can afford to get help and are willing to pay for it', you'd have gone from a big circle all the way to a very small dot in the center. ⁣

Now imaging trying to find the exact people in that dot, compared to one of the slightly bigger audience sizes. You'll find it harder and harder to find your audience the more niche you go.⁣

Which is why in my opinion (depending on your niche), it is possible to go too niche, making it very hard for you to get your messaging and offers in front of the correct audience.⁣

When it comes to getting 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 & 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 (𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐚) 𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤, one of the main problems I see when working with coaches is that they don't know what their KPI's & Goals are. Which means it's impossible for them to even know what success is for their campaign.⁣

So the very first thing you need to do is 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮. ⁣

Once you know what success is for you, then you can identity which of these 5 components need working on.⁣

#𝟏 - 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫⁣
The most important factor of any winning campaign is your offer. If the offer doesn't resonates with your target market, no matter how good your graphics and copy are, it will never be successful. So make sure you offer is something your audience really wants and needs!⁣

#𝟐 - 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬⁣
The creatives you use for your campaign are what stops your ideal clients from scrolling through their feed and grabs their attention. If your creatives aren't doing this, people are just going to keep scrolling by. ⁣
You've got to create your graphics so it's not even a choice for your potential clients to stop, it FORCES them to stop and pay attention. ⁣
𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘈𝘥𝘴 𝘔𝘦𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘤 "𝘊𝘛𝘈 (𝘈𝘭𝘭)" 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝟹% 𝘰𝘳 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘦𝘳!⁣

#𝟑 - 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐩𝐲⁣
Once you have stopped people from scrolling, you now have less than 1s to pique their interest enough to read your copy, so your headline has to be strong as well as the text on your creative. It needs to make them click the "Show More" button to read your copy. Then it's your copy's job to get them to take the action you want them to take. ⁣
If you are seeing a good number of people stopping and interacting with your ad but not them clicking your CTA, then you need to work on your copy. ⁣

𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘊𝘛𝘙 (𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘊𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘛𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘙𝘢𝘵𝘦) 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝟻𝟶% 𝘰𝘧 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘊𝘛𝘙 (𝘈𝘭𝘭) 𝘪𝘴. 𝘦.𝘨. 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘊𝘛𝘙 (𝘈𝘭𝘭) 𝘪𝘴 𝟹%, 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘊𝘛𝘙 (𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘊𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘛𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘙𝘢𝘵𝘦) 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘢𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝟷.𝟻%. ⁣

#𝟒 - 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠⁣
If you're offer, creatives and copy are on point but it's still not working, then it's time to test a new audience set. Although Meta now likes you to give them more freedom with the audience, if you're just starting out and have a small budget, it is very important to give Meta a hand and point them in the right direction. You do this by understand your audience and their interests. Who do they follow, what tech do they use, what movies do they like, what associations are they a part of, what brands do they love, etc. Then you can share this information with Meta to help them look in the right places to put your amazing offer in front of the right people. ⁣

#𝟓 - 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥⁣
This is one area that most people don't even take into consideration when it comes to the success of their Marketing Campaign. Although it counts for at least 50% of the results from it. If your ads is working well but your driving that traffic into a funnel that is poorly designed, loads slow, not mobile optimized, etc, then you those people will just leave straight away, which is not a good sign for Meta as they want their customer to have a great experience. If you funnel is spoiling that experience, then Meta are not going to reward you. ⁣

Use this information to now go an look at your own ads & funnels to understand where you need to work on.⁣

Why every coach NEEDS at least a simple 1 page coaching website and how they can get on set up in less than a day.⁣

Question... if you were looking to hire a coach and you were trying to make your mind up between 2 coaches, both have very similar offers, very similar price points, but 1 coach has a well built website full of testimonials, great content, stories, etc and the other coaches doesn't have a website at all and is only present on social media... which of the two coaches would you go with? 🤔⁣

I hear this question a lot... "Should I create a lead magnet?"⁣

And the honest answer is that it depends on your goals for your business. ⁣

If your goals for your business are to build a long term business, grow your email list of potential clients and to have a marketing assets that you can use to attract new leads every single day on autopilot, then the answer is YES, a lead magnet can 100% help you. ⁣

However, if your business goals are to just make sales today and you're not interested in building your audience, growing your email list and developing a long term relationship with your leads & potential customers, then you're probably better off not having a lead magnet and just continue to grow through your offer. ⁣

The biggest negative of lead magnets is that they can attract a lot of leads who are not interested in becoming buyers todays (If you create your lead magnet the wrong way). They are on a different path of the customer buyer cycle. These leads are still in the information gathering phase most of the time and thus, requires a longer term nurture strategy in order to convert them into paying clients.⁣

However, the pro's of having a powerful lead magnet totally outweigh the cons, such as...⁣
👉 The right lead magnet can attract people who are ready to buy. e.g. A lead magnet that was titled "The Top 10 Questions To Ask A Marketing Agency When Looking To Hire One" is going to attract people who are interested in potentially hiring a marketing agency. Compared to a lead magnet titled "Top 10 Strategies To Grow Your Coaching Business" is more targeted on people who are probably DIY'ers and not actively looking to hire an agency. So converting those from the first example is going to be a lot easier than those from the second example.⁣
👉 You can generally acquire leads at a lower cost per lead using a lead magnet because it is something tangible the lead can use and get an instant benefit from straight away and it doesn't cost them anything. Thus they are more willing to exchange their information with you.⁣
👉 Ads platform friendly - It's very hard to get your ads account shut down through promoting a lead magnet because you're providing Value First and your generally not employing sleezy sales tactics in your copy or page graphics in order to get a conversion.⁣
👉 High-Traffic conversion rate - A good lead magnet, designed specially for your most ideal client, should see above a 50% conversion rate if combined with the correct lead magnet funnel design to maximize conversions. Simply put... If no know ones about you, your offers, your services, then no one is able to buy them! 🙄⁣

Those online coaches that are highly successful have amazing marketing systems in places that are building their audiences, generating new leads and presenting offers to work with them every single day.⁣
