As a resident of great park for the last 10 years I believe its my responsibility and my right to share my personal experience & its the other residents’ choice to make the right decision for themselves.
We got a garage converted by DAVID HASTIE BUILDERS in 2019 and although we suspected a few issues we didn’t think much of it until yesterday when we pulled up the laminate and noticed that it was full of black mould ! Upon further inspection, when we lifted the floorboards we noticed that the floor was filled with builders sand & the damp proofing was not installed correctly. There were also cables runnibg through the water under the floors. We have sent a complaint to the council to see how this conversation was passed (a lot of them are passed based on just pictures) & we will now be taking appropriate action against this company as their work on our property was unsafe & sub standard. They have no qualifications or accreditations and because the building industry is mostly unregulated they take full advantage of it.
I trusted them with this conversation so gave them a second property which they walked away from without any notice & our neighbors then were in the process of calling the police which I had to stop as I thought they were decent guys but I was so wrong ! We have receipts & bank transfers of all the payments made to this company up until the point they walked away from the second job & damaged a lot of our brand new stuff (bathroom cabinets broken, builders rubble shoved under the floor boards, really bad plastering etc.)
Just like alot of others, I found them through recommendations & both my properties were completely wrecked by these cowboy builders !
For anyone who’s unhappy with this post, please contact me directly & ill be happy to share evidence and screenshots from other families who have gone through a similar experience with this company. They’ve now blocked us from their page but I still want to make other residents aware that this can happen to your home & if it ever did you would be devastated just as we are !
